The Regent looks like it is incurring some serious rusting, so, it's doubtful, even in Sunny BC, that that could have occurred
in only about one year's time.

I was thinking the same thing, that Regent looks much more than one year old.

One years time is about right for rust...if you listen real close you can hear it rusting.

===========================================

Apparently, from surviving examples and old photos, they sold a good number of these. I owned
a fully decked 2HT Coronet and could not tear that stuff off fast enough.

I know it is popular now, but I find it just fat and ungainly. Looks like 58 Oldsmobile trim - way too
much, and too much of it !

That really is a great photo. The rare single headlight Imperial and the stripper white Plaza,
the highway itself, the ocean. What a scene !

Is the highway being rebuilt on the distant hill to convert to freeway ?

That's exactly what I thought ! However, the businesses are hard to PID. It appears one
is looking NE, which likely makes that NE 8th St. in the background (?). I remember the tall
white "block" in the background, but cannot remember exactly what or where it was ... up by
Bell, Book, and Candle ????

If I am correct, 3 blocks west of this location was Metke Ford, where I spent a fair amount
of time with my friend who was in love with Shelbys. Back one block (106th) and south almost
to Main, B.C. Hawk Dodge was pushing Coronets like the two I now own.

Things pretty much looked like this when arrived on the scene in 1966. Today it is all gone.
This Googie wonderland is buried under skyscrapers and the sun never touches the street.

Thanks for this wonderful post. I will spend more time studying it.

The CHP Dodges are D500's, but wonder if they were packing dual 4's ?
