Expert Posts: 3480 Location: Montreal, Canada | The 1956 Plymouth convertible with Santa has light-colored fender skirts on it?? Weird and not very pretty with the busy side trim of that Plymouth. Also the blue Plodge up there is not a cuban Kingsway, it's a canadian Dodge Mayfair. That's a Chryco-issued publicity postcard for Canada.

Hey, don't get me wrong, I like the busy side trim on '56 Plymouths!! I meant that the constrasting colour skirts are not very pretty, even more so with that side trim !

Location: Parts Unknown | Hence the red fender skirts: The red and white lets everyone know it "must be" a Christine, but a real super sleek one with fender skirts !

(Check out the size of the tires on that Soto's 15" wheels, too). Edited by d500neil 2013-07-16 5:21 PM

Elite Veteran Posts: 907 Location: Magra, Sweden | Unfortunately they do use salt on the Swedish roads causing the cars to rust heavily. This really nice Plymouth must been very well cared. Most cars from mid 50s was on the roads for less than 10 years. I've had the remains of a 54 Belvedere Sport Coupe that was parked for good due to rust already in 1960.

Location: Parts Unknown | I have found they are much easier to drive in winter if one leaves the drivetrain and glass in them. Maybe they do things differently in Sweden ?

Exner Expert 19,174 posts. Neil passed away 18 Sep 2015. You will be missed, Neil! Posts: 19146 Location: bishop, ca | That is a very strange candid photo of that 56 PLY, above here.... No snow at all on its tire treads?????? One portrait trick, on contemporary automotive portraiture (back in the day of print film; before photo-chopping), was to take fresh water and to clean/wash-off a car's tire treads, so they would lose their real world dirtiness. OK...I do see some trace snow on the treads----that snow, and the tires, must have been equally very cold! Edited by d500neil 2013-07-19 2:56 AM
