Now, there's a good fitting convertible/windows on that car.

Gonna save its image.

If that's Laporte, IN, that's the 'salty' environment that Horrie survived, thanks to
some conscientious ownership and maintenance.

He did not survive rust-free, however, but he survived the 'war'.

How about a continental kit, dual fake exhausts on both sides, fender skirts, dual antennas and a police searcher light?
That chubby is quite "little" compared to most of the chubby ragtops.

Its a fairly well known fact that GM's head of design, Harley Earl was a lover of chrome, the more the better.

The whole 58 GM lineup was overdone, but the Chevy has clashing lines going every which direction,
the bloated 57 nose made to use the quad headlights, the puckered axxhole fin/rear end treatment .....
It just goes on and on !

I will never understand how this car was given away, let alone sold for retail money. What an aesthetic
clusterfukk !

I just love it when Chevy guys try to tell me how "less than cool" Mopars were/are.

Came across this old photo of a custom at an auto show. Sure was drawing a crowd- looks like the 59 nose was duplicated upside down. This was the best scan I could muster as the photo had lots of old fingerprints---I am sure it was passed around a lot!

Did you try rephotographing it rather than scanning?

That might give a better result. In good natural light, but not in the sun, put the pic on the floor and hold the camera dead centre over it.

A larger scan would be good. Set your scanner dpi setting to 300 for a good resolution photo scan. This will give you a large image,
but the size of an image can be reduced later in Photoshop or your favorite image manipulator.

On the other hand, a small image cannot be enlarged too much without pixelation.

Taking a picture of a picture is not the optimal way to get a good copy of an image. That is what
you do when you see it in the wild, on a wall in a restaurant for instance, and want to save it for posterity.

This image of a 55 Plymouth and a 57 Dodge is not the greatest, but is the best I could do.
I found it on the wall at a Hardees Restaurant in central Mississippi.

Using a camera is superior to using a scanner when the picture is in a magazine or book...

And with practice you can learn to get results as good as a scanner of regular photo prints.
