I think that white car with the continental kit is a Hudson Jet. Similar in size to the Willys Aero.
The Jet came with the kit as standard trim.

Aren't those more like Willys tail lights?.

The Willys has an "almost fin" kick up on top of the rear quarter that the tail light forms the downward curve at
the back.
The Jet had a more flat-topped quarter with an oval-ish "button" tail light at the back-top corner, leaning slightly
forward at the top. I am pretty sure the Jet came standard with the kit, whereas I have never seen an Aero with
one. The Jet was kinda boxy like a Checker, only smaller. The Willys was somewhat shapely by comparison.

Another Plymouth found (click on image below)

1958 Plymouth Belvedere Club Coupe

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'd say this is a 1958 Plymouth Belvedere Club Coupe

It appears to be a Belvedere sport coupe (aka 2dr hardtop) with the standard side trim.

I agree with vedette on this one; the car certainly appears to be a Willys. The Hudson Jet had round taillights, and the continental kit was not a standard equipment item.

The photo above shows a Willys with a continental kit.

I think the car in the middle is a 1960 Chrysler Town & Country Station Wagon, Either a New Yorker or a Windsor. Too bad the rear quarter isn't visible.

That's a tease...could also be a 1961 since the tail lights/fins were identical. Just can't tell without seeing side trim or the extended +4 inch front quarter panels of the T&C. Does not look like there are rear handle assists and Can't see the step pads so its likely is a 6 passenger. For sure that's a 61/62 Olds wagon to the left.

Interesting ! I don't recall ever seeing a Willys Aero with a kit. Hmmmm ... !

Well, mebbe the Cliv-o-nator is right ?

I'd still argue it *could* be a Jet. They were both small cars like this, the Hudson being kinda blunt and boxy
by comparison.

As a kid, my friends and I all cultivated lawn mowing and yard clean up "accounts" with people around the area.
My friend Scott had a lady down the highway that he mowed for that had a nicely kept original Aero in the garage.
Her name was Mrs. Sims. Can't believe I can remember her name after almost 40 years ! Her car was an aqua
metallic color with a white top. It was strangely small and unassuming when compared to other 50's cars around
town. I wish I had paid closer attention to it now. I do remember it was pretty "sleek" for its diminutive size, with
a light roof and pillar design when compared to say, as Nash Rambler or the Hudson Jet.

Wonder what ever became of Mrs. Sims' car ?

Not quite within the Forward Look era, but it is a DeSoto..., 1947?
Anybody any clue on what brand and year travel trailer that is?

The 'joke', about the Pennsylvania Turnpike was that 'they' were always working on it, and that it would never
be completely finished.

This was in the 50's/60's; PA may be done creating it, by now.

Good lord no, they are still "working on it"; they never stopped. Of course, in PennDOT parlance that means a 6 mile section of one lane traffic to allow for 100 feet of actual construction.

Incidentally, I remember going with my Grandparents to a restaurant in Walnut Creek that was
really Googie called The Rib Pit. It looked to be right out of these postcards. While down in S.F.
for the NDC Nat's in '96 I drove through there looking for it ..... still there and looking just as I
remembered it ! Still smelled exactly the same after almost 50 years !!!!

Looked GOOD with the DeSoto parked out front !

The food was fantastic.

Thanks Doc, and I did paint it red and white, alto it was that color when I bought it, so most likely came from the factory that way. Bought the car in 1960, replaced the 326 and powerflite with a 413 and a torqueflite, the car being a 4 door was a real "Sleeper".

57burb - 2010-04-10 2:34 AM I found a few.

Would you happen to know where that First National and Grants postcard (image tw221-1.jpg) is located?

I'm sorry, but I felt I had to move my postcard web page to a better suiting location.

You can now find it at:

And here it's gonna stay!

1959 Dodge convertible at Sunrise Motel, Duluth, MN

There's also a 1959 Buick, which is as close a GM ever came to reaching the Forward Look.

A quick, low quality still from the 1963 movie, "Soldier in the Rain." This '59 Plymouth wagon was at Fort Ord:
