That 58 Chrysler, above is a Canadian Windsor, identical to the US Saratoga. There were not short (122") wheelbase 57-58 Chryslers or DeSotos built in Canada. Canada didn't get a Saratoga named Forward Look car until 1959.

Colorado Springs

That is a very neat view of Pikes Peak Ave and the Antlers Hotel, and those DeSotos would make a nice addition to this Plymouth on Pikes Peak Ave.

Find this postcard on eBay (not mine!)

Freeman Motor in Lumberton, North Carolina
Shown here several times before, but now in details on my website:
http://dodge.forwardlook.eu/postcards/cards/NCLumbertonFreemanMotor...

The cars in the distance are pretty small and as good as unrecognizable, to me, in this postcard resolution.
What I think I can recognize in the foreground are:
1957 Dodge Coronet Lancer, 1959 Plymouth Custom Suburban & 1959 Chrysler New Yorker

Really cool!

In The Netherlands, a vehicle always keeps it's same license plate (number), and nowadays you can check at the Dutch DMV over the internet to see whether a particular license plate number is stilll active.
Would be cool to know what happened to this car. Could be one of 'ours'!

Hey, Jim...can you super-enlarge the view around that Imperial, parked next to the 59 Ny'er?

Trying to figure out what the deep-black color is, on its rear end; doesn't appear to be a shadow, and no real 'need' for its
presence or application, on the photo.

Is this what you meant? It does seem like a shadow indeed. But hey, it is an Imperial! And I see window stickers too!
The 1957 Dodge has got a 2-tone steering wheel. And no dual exhaust. And something that seems to be a right outside rear view mirror?

Thanks!

That black area is way too dark, and distinctly-edged, to be a shadow, on that Imp.

That Coronet looks like its got the Custom Coronet interior (notched seat backs & upper Mylar trim), which would
not include its also-optional 2-tone steering wheel.

Its single exhaust pipe was standard equipment on the V/8 Coronet models.

I dunno what that thing is, on its fender; way too-far-forward to be an OEM mirror, and the OEM mirror is installed to the
rear of the fender antenna (which also may be an after-market installation, on this car; if that IS an antenna, at the
base of the windshield!).

Agreed...

If you look at the shadows on the ground you'll also see that the whole of the Imperial will be in shade anyway.

That DeSoto above is kind of strange - I think it's a Canadian built Adventurer -(low rear window indicates this) because the US Adventurer sedan had the high rear window. Also the bird-bath deck lid was not available on any DeSoto - this one has been added at some point.  In fact looking closer this deck lid is not even a correct flight-sweep deck lid.   Notice the groove at the bottom below the wheel outline.   This isn't found on the flight-sweep deck lid.

I found another photo of the car with Ontario license plates.

Ian,

This is what I call a "silly-mobile", with someone (or multiple someones ?) adding kitsche and bad idea
bling to the car to "add" to what they perceive as a "more is better" approach to their car.

The stick-on toilet seat was available at any Western Auto for many years, and real toilet seats could
be bought at any corner hardware store. Also not the 1970's Dodge "Adventurer" truck emblems on the
sides - not the long and finely scripted originals. Unless, of course, Canadian-built cars got different emblems
too ?

It's a shame they didn't add flippers to the wheel covers and perhaps some gill ribs off a NY'er or 59 Dodge.
Maybe some running lights on the sides and some extra hood and fender ornaments for good measure ?
Afterall, one could chrome the entire car and it still wouldn't be enough !

I posted this one with you in mind. I didn't want to point out the low glass back window because I hoped you would. The missing (on Canadian Adventurers) b-post stainless trim also looks weird.
