Okay, this black and white we've had before... but I saw it in the McDonalds at Dublin GA and thought it needed to be repeated for the reason that it's there to be seen.

Then I saw the mural painted on the opposite wall was appropriate too...

That's a Borgward Hansa 1500, the Borgward cars were quality car in the same league as Mercedes Benz

Actually, you may be right Ray, there's no big difference - I think perhaps in options and equipment. The classic Isabella for me are the 2 door coupe

To me and my recollections, the Hansa was an 1100cc car, the Isabella 1500cc. The Hansa was way smaller and actually much plainer too.

But on checking around I see that Hansas went up to the larger sizes too, gained that diamond in the middle of the grille, but it was even more pronounced and they made the Isabella look absolutely beautiful by comparison.

So I don't really know what the story was. Except that they ran out of business... of course...

Ray, the Hansa was my first car - it's still in the wood, left to rot, I was only 14 when I had it and drove it mostly off road. I think your dead on, the Hansa had a smaller engine and the Isabellas was really more nice looking, especially the 2 door "hardtops". Being an east state car manufactory, they just died, like most communism related things.......

I thought they were in West Germany...

They were still on sale here up to at least 1960.

I mixed it up with Borgwards Nazi-connections Ray - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Borgward
The strange thing is that the Swedish Wiki page is very informative about Borgwards Nazi-connections, while the English doesn't mention it?!

This sort of event, above, happens fairly often.

A driver overlooks a narrow shoulder, or the shoulder turns out to be 'soft' instead of hard-paved,
and...ooops!

In this case, the driver was fooled by the tall grass, which obscured the fact that the shoulder was
relatively very narrow.

You can see the right side tire track(s) in the foreground, as the driver pulled off of the roadway......

And in this photo, above, it looks like the dealership was actively encouraging direct comparisons
between the Plymouth and its Brand-x competition!
