Expert 5K+ Posts: 5139 Location: cornpatch county, Southwest IOA | My thought was: To find a Mopar event that was close enough that Rob and Lois( Red Ram) Canada, could easily drive to and also anyone eles interested. It would probably be a 3-4 day event with a 1-2 day Mopar show. I was thinking somewhere between St Louis and mid minnesota, maybe western Wisc. I think there are several of us that could attend something like that. Give us some input.................................MO

Extreme Veteran Posts: 303 Location: P la P, Man | Hi Guys - We've been talking about the Shakopee Minn. show: "Mopars in the Park". Here's a gallery of this year's event: http://midwestmopars.com/Gallery/mip07?page=1 But did I hear it's outgrown the venue, and will be in a new spot in 2008? Accommodations might be hard to find. A lot of Manitoba Mopar club members go. I'll ask someone who went this year for info. when I talk to them again. - Rob..................That would be great, Clive. Except for the boat ride through Hudson's Bay and the right turns when we get there. :P

Expert Posts: 1497 Location: Fairfax, Minnesota | It sure would be great to see more FL at Mopars in the Park. When I was leaving the 2007 show I was told tha the new site would be the Dakota County fairgrounds in Farmington, MN. This show has grown dramatically in the last few years. I would also vote for Western Wisconsin- what about the Dells? The WPC Club held their national meet there a few years ago.

Rob, how about it, is this something you could do?.................................MOIt sure would be great to see more FL at Mopars in the Park. Elite Veteran Posts: 827 Location: Northwest Iowa | I just wanted to throw out another suggestion: http://www.chicagolandmopar.com/events/2007/WILLOWA/showflier2007.p... If the time of year makes a difference to anyone this one Mopars on the Mississippi has been the latter part of August Mopars in the park in Minnesota has been the fist part of June I see their dates for 2008 are May 31 - June 1. I have attended -as a spectator- the one in MN several times and enjoyed it very much. and have tried with out success to attend the one in Dubuque, I will have to check my schedule for this year to maybe check it out. Where ever we may have a get together I surely hope to be able to attend. J.W. Duhn

Expert Posts: 1444 Location: Oconomowoc Wi | Whenever and wherever it is I'd vote in favor of having it in conjunction with a bigger WPC event, or a Mopar Nats type event. Id reverse engineer our get together by deciding who's party we'd like to crash and then check their calendar and attend that event. It takes the monkey off our backs for organizing, arranging lodging etc. Lets face it, we're not a real organization or a club.

So far "Mopars in the Park" Minn. and "Mopars on the Mississippi" Dubuque, Ia. has been mentioned. Any others that our friends from Canada could attend?..........................MO Whenever and wherever it is I'd vote in favor of having it in conjunction with a bigger WPC event, or a Mopar Nats type event. Bart- just re read your post and maybe I mis-understood. you are talking about a BIG event like "back to the 50's" or Iola? My thought was a smaller show would be easier to park together, more time to socialize, and 15-20 FL cars together, would really stand out . Edited by MOPAR-TO-YA 2007-07-31 1:27 AM

Expert Posts: 1497 Location: Fairfax, Minnesota | Note: I think the only way to park together at Back to the Fifties is to have everyone show up at the same time, very, very, very, very early- <5:00AM.... No options for saving spaces for friends that I know of.

Expert Posts: 1444 Location: Oconomowoc Wi | I can not take any credit for this suggestion. It came from another list member durring one of the FL chat sessions over the Thanksgiving weekend, and I think its a great one. Howsabout planning a get-together around Hot Rod Magazine "Power Tour" ? Seven Cities in Seven Days... and this years route hits a number of cities in the Midwest. More Details to come but heres plenty to chew on. Even if we didn't do the entire tour, but hit the last few legs of the tour, It would still be a gas !!! Official HR Mag Website: http://hotrod.com/upcomingevents/hrpt_2008_tour_dates/index.html The 2008 HOT ROD Power Tour™ dates are set. The kickoff begins on June 7, 2008 in Little Rock, Arkansas. From there we'll roll through the Midwest with stops in Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska, Iowa, Minnesota. The week-long trek ends on June 13th (June 14th for the Long Haulers) in Madison, Wisconsin. Below are the dates and event locations.
