Just been in the Garage, and either Someone has crawled under the 59 Chrysler Windsor and Died, OR i have a Power Steering Leak.. I did notice the Pump was a Little Whiny when i drove it in the States and had to tighten the Belt after 1000 plus miles .. So i checked the Transmission Box level ( not running ) and that appears OK as it is way up the stick. I checked the Power Pump and although it is Not completely empty, It is Very Low..

So has anyone got a spare Pump Laying around that they wouldn,t mind selling .. I can take a PIC of the Pump if there are Different pumps fitted in that year model.. Either reply here or send a PM

Thanks Clive

Thanks GARRY... I will check the one fitted on my 59 to Compare.. But it may be a Couple Days, As i get Home Late from Work..

I was Hoping someone in the UK may have one , OR hopefully IAN may know of something, As i am Not sure How much the Shipping would be as the Pump will be Quite Heavy.. But IF it is the correct one and i cannot find a pump overhere, I will Have it.. Any Chance you could weigh it and find out a shipping cost..

Thanks Clive

if its just leaky, why don't you just seal it up??? its mostly the large housing O ring. easy to fix and cheap.

I was going to go for another Pump, As when i drove it in America , I noticed the Steering was a Little Notchy when the Engine was just over Idle driving in the Multy Storey Carpark. This is what made me Check and tighten the Belt, But i did notice the End Shaft Wheel what the Belt runs on had some End Play. And if you sort of Jurked it, It did have a little Knock within the Play.. So i am guessing the Bearing has Gone and Probably Damaged the End " O Ring " ,, I have Never rebuilt a Power Steering Pump, So Replacement Seemed the easy option..

But i am Open to Any Idea,s OR Advice.. The Leak may not be that bad. The car has sat idle since End october and you know how bad oil spreads and makes things look worse than they really are.. And i only topped up the Oil ONCE in America and drove 1800 Miles.. Well 800 after i toppped it up..

Garry.. The Pump seems Correct.. EXCEPT The Bracket is All Wrong and my Bracket has 2 Bolts at the Back of the Pump, Where as in your Last PIC you can see yours only has 1...

So does anyone Know if this pump is still Compatible............

I checked my 59 Chrysler Pump Against my 59 Dodge Pump and they are IDENTICAL..

Thanks .....LOL

If you look at this PIC.. Mine has a Extra bolt in the Centre.. So that bracket is slightly longer with 2 bolts.. So shouldn,t be a problem really...

Has anyone Else fitted this pump to my type of bracket ????????????
