Vehicle Description

Up for sale is 1957 Plymouth Belvedere 2 door hardtop. I’ve owned this car for 3 years and am sad to part with it but other financial obligations must come first. The car has power steering, power brakes, a torque-flite transmission, and a 2-brrl 318 poly engine.

This is not a show car but a great “10 footer”. Aside from one penny-size dimple in the hood all the body panels are extremely straight with no waves. All glass is clear with no cracks. All bright metal is in good condition with no noticeable dings. Chrome is in good shape: some pits in vent windows, the front bumper is dull, and the back bumper was recently re-chromed. Body, floors, truck are completely solid; the only known rust is pictured below. The interior is faded with a couple rips in the front seat. The exterior paint has been redone at some point in the past but is old and will eventually need redone. All lights/signals work and tires are in good condition.

The brake system was redone after I bought the car with new wheel cylinders, new brake lines, new shoes, and is very responsive with no pulling. The power steering operates correctly and is very smooth. The transmission shifts correctly and shows no signs of wear. The hand brake also works correctly and does not slip. I also had the radiator flushed and replaced multiple components on the engine including the carb. The problem is the compression rings; there is a 60% compression loss causing the engine to stall when the RPMs fall. The car will start, run, and can be driven slowly but will stall after operating at high speeds. The engine is not original to the car and I cannot verify the mileage on the odometer which is 32k.

This car is an excellent investment as you don’t find many 50’s mopars in this condition with out a full restoration. If the buyer is interested, along with the car comes a ‘57 301 poly engine block which I had intentions of rebuilding. Transportation of the car and spare engine are solely the buyer’s responsibility. Car is sold as is and no warranties are given or implied in this sale. Full payment is due within 3 days of auction end. Car must be picked up no later then March 15 – zip code 17222.

I have described this vehicle to the best of my knowledge but please ask any questions before bidding and good luck!

Ok - Nice original that you don't see that often, but for cripes sake, get some Stanley Steemer in that interior.

All that new stuff on top of an engine that works at just 40%.....
