Location: Farmingdale NJ | Hi all, just found out about a small lot being auctioned on 4/12/08. The lot is near the Delaware riv, just north of Lambertville. Just outside of Stockton. I have a link I'll post shortly. It advertises Furds and Ch3vys mostly, but I looked closely at the small amount of pictures and found a couple FL. Cant see what kind of shape they're in, but I expect them to be pretty rough.
Anybody interested? |

...how about the wagon in the lower left? Unless I'm mistaken, thats a 57-58 Plymouth is it not?

Location: Belford, NJ | The first one is a '55 Plymouth... belvedere maybe? The second is actually a '58 Cadillac Hearse.. here's another view of it:

Location: New Jersey | Yes, that's a '55 flattie Plymouth. The '58 Caddy is resting with a couple Furds, 48 and 55-56 vintage, along with a '56 Pontiac in Dan's picture. Please excuse the gross aberration but< I'll say it real softly> (I'd like to get the center caps off the Pontiac for a '59 Catalina tri-power I have. The caps were the same through '60.)---Fred |

Location: Farmingdale NJ | Well I went to this auction. What a shame. Must have been one of those guys that would never sell anything, never protected the stuff he had, and let everything sink into the ground. I dont know how you would have picked anything up off the ground without it falling apart.
Anyway; the 55 Ply was gone. Couldnt find it anywhere. No other FL's were there. Only an early 50s Chrysler Windsor with a flattie.
This guy loved 30s Cadd's, and LaSalles. There was a handfull of each. At least what was left of them. Mostly rotted frames with suspensions, cowls and hoods. A couple of cool Kaisers that were rotted away although 100% there. One had about a 20 inch tree grown into the right front fender. I walked the whole thing, got disgusted, and left before the actual auction started. |

Location: New Jersey | That's too bad---disappointing. Walking thru boneyards always bring me back to better days. Bob, do you remember two of the greatest yards in Jersey---one in Washington up in the mountains off Rte. 57, which closed relatively recently and one off Rte 12, which had many fine FL's, and was cleared out about 8 years ago? This summer I'm going to haunt some of the old yards I love, one in particular in Culpepper, Va off Rte 301, just to breathe in some fine old smells of rust mixed in with oil and tires.---Fred |

Location: Farmingdale NJ | I know about the one off 57. It was called Kobers or something like that. Actually it has been discussed before on the forums here! Cant remember who brought up the yard in the past, but I think it was a displaced Jerseyan. |

Location: New Jersey | I haven't been up there in a few years, the last time being the week that it was closed to the public. I reclaimed many, many parts during that week, but was very frustrated because htere were so many cars in fairly good condition which were to be crushed. I went up there about 6 months later, couldn't get in; but was able to look into the yard from a vantagepoint on the access road and nothing had been done. I think it's time for another run up the mountain. I'll check it out and try to get a status report for you.---Fred |
