Elite Veteran Posts: 802 Location: Norcross (Atlanta area), GA | This company advertises in Mopar Collectors Guide periodically, and I never paid that much attention to them. Recently, however, I went to their web side and found a 1957-59 Dodge/ Plymouth section, featuring floor pans, trunk pans, and a front access panel, which looks to me like the firewall panel under the steering column. It looks like a good source for replacing original rusty underfloor panels on FL vehicles, but has anyone on this forum done business with them? To find them, go to their web site and click on Chrysler Parts, then go to the 1957-59 Plymouth & Dodge link. Good hunting, everyone. http://www.autobodyspecialt.com/

Expert 5K+ Posts: 6203 Location: Big pimpin' | I've bought some Musclecar stuff before, and was happy with the quality... However, it isn't that hard to repop Musclecar stuff as it's everywhere..Never bought any '57-'59 Stuff from 'em...

Expert Posts: 1316 Location: Belgium, 40 miles south of Brussels | When I was shopping for floorpans, I gave them a phone call. I told them that I was looking for true quality parts for my restoration project. Well, basically, the guy talked me out of buying stuff from them ! In the end, he told me that I would be better off buying floorpans from Classic Fabrications. Which I did ... And they're crap. I still don't know of a supplier that makes good quality floorpans for the '57-'59 Plymouth & Dodge models.

Expert Posts: 1590 Location: Scottsdale, AZ | I bought front floor pans and outer rockers from them for my '56 CRL and was happy with the product. Though they list the same pans for Dodge and Plymouth, the ribbing on the passenger side did not match the directions mine flowed (Dodge). But I didn't end needing that area, so it worked out fine.

Expert Posts: 3155 Location: NY & VT | Everyone I've talked to has been quite happy with the pans from R-Car, and not so happy with pans from the guy from MI on eBay who goes by Classicparts4U... the bad news is that R-Car was itself for sale - on eBay! - very recently. Anyone know how that turned out??

They are R/Car, Roger answers the phone there. I've bought a full set of front-rear left-right floors for my 55-56 Plymouths. They are pretty low quality, and only very generally approximate the originals. But since they are going to be covered with carpets, then you can't be reminded what a stupid purchase you made. The left front one is the worst. The 55-56 Plymouth have a removable access panel that the R/Car floorpan completely ignores. Looks like you are supposed to cut out the bottom horizontal half of this access panel and weld the replacement across it and the surrounding panels. The "tool and die expert" who created this piece either never saw a 55-56 Plymouth, or was drunk. Complaints to Roger about this get you a quick hang-up, and he keeps selling the same crap. Too bad, we need better suppliers. i found a local muffler shop who likes to do sheet metal fab and welding on the side, and he's done some great work on my 55 Plym HT for only $200 a throw.
