Hahaha! next time i will make the pics smaller!

The car is a dodge royal, from a junkyard in Oregon (been there since 1961)

Floorpans are rusted but i have three partcars. i will build it in my own taste with modern parts here and there. and the suspension 4 inch lowered in the rear and 2 inch in front

Some more pics, I drilled some new drain holes in the front and rear of the frame were all the sand and stuff always get stuck

Also I found some dings and dents and even a small crack that need to be corrected before sandblasting.

It took me three hours to clean the inside of the frame from mouse nests and Oregon dirt! Now I just have to do some welding and then on to the sandman

This is meant to be a low budget buildup, It will be my own toy built my way, Not a show car, I will do everything myself except engine and sandblasting.

Hey Sigge, how many body mounting points are there?  I'm not pulling the body off my frame, but have considered changing the rubber body mounts.  On my '56 there are 2 body mount points in the trunk to the rear of the wheel arch, are those the two small holes on top of the frame in your pic?  I guess they use a different rubber mount than the front ones?

Hi ! There are 14 body mounts. but there is only rubber on 12 of them, on the 2 all the way back it's just a thin gasket, all rubber mounts are the same but the bolts are diffrent. usually they dont need to be replaced, mine are in really good shape, this car has been sitting in a junkyard in oregon since the early sixties.
If you want to buy new ones you can find them at www.oldmoparts.com

While I am waiting for the frame to be sandblasted, I decided to take the front suspension and steering apart in order to decide what needs to be replaced.

I even Took some spare ones apart too.

Seems that the kingpins have a little play but everything else is ok!

Well, Sigge, your floors are slightly worse than mine.  My left front floor looks almost identical to yours, except the area where the gas pedal goes is fine on mine.  I've just got to order new wheel bearings and seals for the front and my front suspension will go back together.  Oh, and I have to order a new idler arm.  But, looks like yours is coming together good.  I enjoy watching your progress, not as many of the '55-'56 cars being restored now, but seems more and more are showing up.  Thanks for all the pics dude!

Today i cut up the partscar!

I felt pretty bad cutting up a body with almost no rust in it, in order to make it into patch panels for a car with much more rust . but since some crazy guy replaced the rockerpanels 15 years ago no one has been able to mount the doors

Looks like good progress. Those old suspension parts rarely need replacing as long as they have been lubed well. It is funny that my '56 Plymouth runs on dirt roads the best out of all my vehicles. It seems they were designed for it.

Wow, what a great job you are doing on the Dodge. This is one of my favorites in the world. There is a 56 wagon on e-bay now. But I am to far into my 56 Plymouth wagon to change now. Would you have a set of grille teeth you would part with? I am interested in trying to put them on my 56 Plymouth grille. Please let me know. Good luck with your build, please keep us posted with progress. Thanks!!-Larry/Poly Girl 56 Plymouth Suburban 2-dr wagon

Nice going so far! I bought my '55 Coronet in Oregon in '73, from a 26 year-old lady who drove it to work at the Safeway store in Bend, for a cool $100! Never have had it apart that far tho! LOL Glad to see you keepng another '56 alive! Harold Eaton

Hey Sigge, It's been almost six years since I sold you the fender skirts and speedometer and other stuff. Looks like you are making great progress. I sold my two D-500's almost eight years ago. I sure miss them. Dodge1956@aol.com

Hi bruce!

I sold my custom royal lancer -56 since it only had two doors!

My belief is that a car should have at least four doors

I have been collecting parts for a long time and now i'm ready to build one as i think it should be.

Inside of the body is scraped to remove all the thick noise limiting undercoating, Now i only have to do the underside too Hopefully the body will be sandblasted in august.

The tools used is a electrical scraper and a carbondioxide fire-extinguisher-. Works great!!

Did you order new brake wheel cylinders?  I have all new ones for the front which I'm not using, I went with the ECI disc brake setup.  You could have them for the cost of shipping.  Anyway, great progress!
