Location: The Centennial State | There are a few things: I need to put in all the side windows and vent windows. I need to have the interior put in with the original headliner. I need to take the car back to Wheels of Time and have them fix a few areas where the paint lifted and a small rust spot on the passenger rear wheel well. Other than those items, I think the car is ready to go!

Location: The Centennial State | Hi, Bengt: I have not uncovered the seats yet, but there are a few surprises. The Gammel Dodge was built very early in the production run and it appears to have received the 1957 "dog-bone" black fabric! I should have some pictures up in a few weeks.

Extreme Veteran Posts: 444 Location: Sweden Vansbro | It sounds strange Mike. I have the same TRIM code 173 as you have, and my car's birthday OCT 2 "57, so now you make me curious, and this picture shows what under the hot rod interior in my car. It looks like 1958 to me, or?? SMS product numberr: 58-81024 (003_1.jpg) Attachments ---------------- 003_1.jpg (172KB - 661 downloads)

Location: The Centennial State | Hi, Bengt - So both our cars were built days apart (yours first) - both are Royals, both D500s, both from the Hammatramck plant, both trim codes 173. We should have the exact same interior! I need to take some pictures of mine and post. It looks like there are some horizontal marks on yours (maybe from the seat covers)? So this is the forward portion of the rear seat butt-rest. I do not recognize the fabric at all from my '58 fabric sample book - but I will check again. Just looking at the picture, the fabric looks original - a mystery indeed!

Location: The Centennial State | Bengt, yours is the correct, original, 1958 material. It is one of the few fabric samples missing from my sample sheet! I have the light blue version. That makes me even more puzzled...why would the Gammel Dodge (built 12 days after yours) get the 1957 fabric??? Did they run out?

Location: The Centennial State | I sold the Gammel Dodge yesterday to Marianne and Tom Amberg of Arvada. I had not worked on it in quite a while and it was time for it to go. I was reluctant to sell it, but I think Tom and Marianne will rev up the restoration and get it done right. I can give them all the parts necessary to complete the restoration and free up space to focus on the convertible. They are a really nice couple and I hope they will stay in touch. I never even uncovered the original seats!

Location: The Centennial State | Gerad Richard sent me some images of two of my very favorite cars together again. He is working on the windows of the Gammel Dodge for Marianne. Great to see these cars again! Also, Gerad uncovered the seats! I have long waited to see what is underneath the covers! I was very surprised to see the black vinyl! I had thought those sections would be black fabric and I even thought that they were a black 1957 Dodge fabric.
