Posts: 19146 Location: bishop, ca | Well, congratulations----"816" translates to Coronet V/8 2-dr HT; the Paint code is confusing, as it 'should' be "077", not "9[??]77"--the "077" was used on the Custom Royal and the Royal 'Goldens'; yours is the second Coronet Golden Lancer I've seen (with it having "077" PNT coding, too), but, the other one had the common interior Trim code "531", which is "black-and-white". Your interior is coded "528", which also is a very common Coronet coding, but I'd never seen an image of it before, so I guess that I'll call it black, with red/white 'blocks' all-cloth. That looks like a signal-seeking radio, too, with a rear speaker fader-knob! The car was 'scheduled' to be built on or around 4/21/56. As part of its restoration, AG Back East can replicate the P/T plate, from what's-left of your plate. THIS is the car that I'd restore! Edited by d500neil 2009-10-28 7:41 PM

Veteran Posts: 197 Location: Mid Michigan | This is the car that I got for a parts car that my wife bought for me. This car is very rough.. it might look to be in decent shape, but somebody has already applied galvanized patch panels.. haha. There is no trunk pan, wheel wells are shot, and it always seems that the ones that are worth the most are in the worst condition.. haha.

Posts: 19146 Location: bishop, ca | WayneStill-Out-There is fond of pointing out the difference between the DOD/PLY Motor Wheel (NOT "Kelsey Hayes"!) brand wire wheels, and the CHY/IMP[?] wheels, by confirming that the latter have wire wheels configured like this CRL has on it, with the 'short' spokes, which terminate on the backside of the rims, as shown. The DOD/PLY wire wheels have the 'long' spokes on them, which extend down to the outer wheel lip area. Philip, the Golden Lancer may be in rough condition, but it is, also, very desirable, after it is restored. I wouldn't suggest using THIS car as a parts car. Consider yourself luck to have it, and maybe sell it to someone (read: European) who will be able to restore it, along with its signal-seeking radio! Edited by d500neil 2009-10-29 8:25 PM
