Posts: 19146 Location: bishop, ca | I've often wondered about how/why the above advertisements, and others, showed cars having humongous front wheel wells, as compared to the appearance of the wheel opening as seen on the blue Crown, up above here. Can't imagine that IMP had different fenders available. I don't think that it's very attractive, having the front wheel get 'lost', inside that huge wheel well opening. Notice how the woman's red gown mimics the shape of the car's wheel opening.

If any IMP were to have an extravagantly shaped front fender treatment, it would have been the 59(+) models. Both of the red-58's look like depictions of real cars, and not pure artwork-illustrations.

Expert Posts: 1506 Location: Colo Spgs | Hola All During the same time frame as I was having a "Stroke" I was looking at a 1962 Imperial Crown. I could hardy walk on flat pavement when I got the car. Another who lived here told me that I could park the car next to his garage. This was the way it was until last Nov. He moved to Ariz and I moved the car. I put some new rear springs on the car and I "gave" the Imperial Div spec'd Power Steering Pump, the High Amp Alternator and brackets to Tony of this site for his project that he is working on ( at a slightly faster speed than what I am doing ). For those of you learning about the Imperial Div, the 1957 to 1966 Frame is swapable. The same is for the Wind Shield Glass. The 1959 15 inch Wheels are the same part number also on the 1966 Imperials and the list goes on and on. Rodger & Gabby COS

Exner Expert 19,174 posts. Neil passed away 18 Sep 2015. You will be missed, Neil! Posts: 19146 Location: bishop, ca | Everybody take notice of how deeply the Imperial Crown motifs were embossed into the seats of Elvis' car? Saw a white/red-interior 1957 IMP vert at the B-J a few years ago, and the best that the restorer could do (back then, anyway) was to engrave the 'Crowns' right into the leather. Sad.

You can see that my interior was installed using the original material and I am looking for a solution to add the the crown embossing for the center consoles and rear side door pannels.
