Location: N.W. Fla. | The Nationals in Louisville, Ky is for modified cars, & starting this year(who knows about next year!) the event is open up to 1982. So if you have a modified/customized FL car you're ok for entry. Aug 5-8, '10 |

Location: Dellslow, West ("By God") Virginia ! | George The NSRA's 'modified' term can be taken VERY loosley.
I have seen almost 100 point antiques, show up at the 'Nats' with a set of aftermarket 'big and little' tires/wheels and be consitered a Street Rod!
The exhaust sound isn't quite right, but,,,,,,, it's still consitered a Rod.
They use to be STRINGENT, on NOTHING newer than 1948 can be entered in any of the Nats. Wonder why they 'relaxed' the year cutoff? |

I would expect 2 reasons
1. $$$$$$$$$$$$$
2. Membership... if you've ever been to a NSRA event the overwhelming majority aint gittin any younger and street rods aint cheap. By opening it up to newer cars you get an influx of new blood
I belong to both NSRA and Goodguys. I joined NSRA because my brother is heavy into street rods and they used to open Richmond VA to cars up to 72, that way we could do an event together.
I have been to Louisville in the past, pre49 cars, the year I was there it was over 11000 cars. Well worth the trip.
On a side note: Rick you gonna make it to Carlisle? |

Location: Dellslow, West ("By God") Virginia ! | David. Yes, I plan on being at Carlisle. Hope to talk to you and everyone else! Problem, I know some names, but can't put 'em to faces. Other than a handfull that I know personally, it will be hard to put names to faces.
My first NSRA Nats was I think '76 (?) in OH. The last was in Memphis, '80 I think. The first and last Goodguys was also in OH I think it was '79 Cleveland(?) Too long ago.
All I can remember about the Goodguys, is that I was out some place, local looking at a MoPar Convt Rod. A bunch, two or three clubs, others, had Linda Vaughn (Miss Hurst) posing all over my truck, and I didn't get ONE picture!
Don't ask how she knew me,,,,,,, but when I returned with the bunch that took me to see this other Rod, I walked by the tent where she was at, signing autographs and posing for pictures (my truck was parked maybe 50' from that tent) she said to me with a big smile, "There is NO way, I'm getting into that sleeper!" I had NO idea what she was talking about, untill one of the Hurst guys from her tent, and a guy I knew from southern OH, told me about 20 or 30 people all at once having her pose with and on my truck. (sigh) |

Location: N.W. Fla. | NSRA numbers have been fairly flat while Goodguys is growing. Guess they decided to tap into the later support. Has annoyed a lot of rodders. May end up being a "New Coke" thing. |
