Elite Veteran Posts: 769 Location: Oley, PA | http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1960-DeSoto-Cross-Ram-Power-Charge-D... Looks like a cool car and appears to be documented too. If I didn't already have a project... Probably gonna be too pricey for me anyways I didn't know that the Desoto version of the long ram engine was called "Power Charge." Cool.

Elite Veteran Posts: 769 Location: Oley, PA | It'll be fun to see what the bidding gets to. I also noticed they have a link to their web site that shows pics of the IBM card and other stuff. Pretty cool. http://classicgray.com/sys/display.cgi?detail=197 Does anyone know if the Desoto "Power Charge" option included any distinctive badging equivalent to the "sonoramic" badges used on the plymouth? My guess is no, but just curious. Edited by Greg P. 2011-01-16 1:38 PM (powercharge desoto.jpg) Attachments ---------------- powercharge desoto.jpg (106KB - 206 downloads)

Do we know of any others? *********************************************** I owned and drove a special-order 60 Fireflite coupe with 383 crossram and 3-onda-floor. All black car, heavy torsion bars, 12" brakes, manual everything, clear glass, rubber floor mats, no heater, no radio, no backup lights. It was a weird one. There are several other 60 crossram cars known to the NDC.

Wrecking yards were full of them. I parted some cars that I really regret today .... they would be PRIMO cars to restore now. But back then, there was always something else out there to play with. That crossram DeSoto was sold to a guy in Tacoma (with 2-3 others I had) when I culled my "herd" down to just the 58 DeSoto. I later heard that he got into some sort of jam and the cars were hauled off and crushed !!! Hard to believe, given this was as late as the early 90's. But attitudes were very different not so long ago.

Location: Parts Unknown | Even so, it is still very true. I have spent more years with these cars being considered ugly and "junk" than I have since they have become "cool".
