Expert Posts: 1539 Location: Farnborough. Hampshire. England. | It's sad for me to see her go Jan, but I know that it's gone to a good home...The demolition men move in on our storage facility next week, it's all being pulled down, I have got 3 big Plymouths at home, my tow truck at Mopar Nick's workshop, and my Peugeot and BSA at my daughter's house... The car looks great cruisin' down the Autobahn, and I bet you got loads of looks from the rubberneckers.. And mind you don't get your arm sunburnt when you are driving with it resting on the door

Sure is tough, though, getting those Deutsche plates to fit an American car, especially in front! I think these are just for driving it home. After the car is inspected they can get small plates I guess. At least, that's how it works here

Location: North Australia | Go the '70 L.T.D. (living the dream) tyres. 60 Plymouths are fine looking cars, with any tyres on ém! This ride looks beaut' in Black. Steve. Edited by 60 Imp 2013-06-24 8:34 AM
Doctor DeSoto |

Location: Parts Unknown | The car looks formal and sophisticated with proper whitewalls as seen up top. It instantly takes on the appearance of a beater in the trailer park with radials like this. Deduct 10 points !
60 Imp |

Location: North Australia | How many points deducted for an Imperial with ''trailer trash'' tyres on it? Anyway, 1960 cars have a wild side to them, not like the stodgy 55 to 59 models, so the racy narrow walls look the part (as they forged into the future)! Take a look at the talent hanging around that car! Piet, your car looks the Sh!t with them radials on it. Steve. Edited by 60 Imp 2013-06-24 9:03 AM

Location: Parts Unknown | 60 Imp - 2013-06-25 6:01 AM racy narrow walls look the part ============================================= Put 'em on an E-Type or a Stingray, and I'd agree.

Extreme Veteran Posts: 538 Location: Hamburg-Germany | yes we have to change the tires -the nices white walls where old and cracked-the radials we have in stock from the 62 chrysler the really white walls are very expensive in germany - $2000 for a set of 4- Piet drive the car all day - so better radials as drive a hyundai and let the beauty in the garage

Expert Posts: 2312 Location: Arizona | I like the wide whites on them thru 1956 but the 57's and later I think look as good or better with the narrower whitewalls.

Posts: 19146 Location: bishop, ca | NOT hijacking your fine thread, but this 56 IMP is the only FWDLK'er I've ever seen that looks good with narrow WW's. Didn't even notice its tires when this car was posted on the Evil-Pay. Location: Parts Unknown | It just hit me ... the perfect analogy. When I looked at that picture again of the "pin up" girl leaning against the car above ... Skinny whitewalls/radials look about as proper on a finned car as a dude with an exposed hairy chest and beard in those same clothes leaning against the car ! Some things just ain't right !

Expert Posts: 1539 Location: Farnborough. Hampshire. England. | Thankyou for the update pics Jan.....Piet has done my old car proud... I see the tyres have started a controversy, so to get all the " Tyre Experts " upset, you should tell Piet to paint the car Red 'n White... Piet chose the Tyres for SAFETY...

Extreme Veteran Posts: 531 Location: Park Hills, KY | Just remember, the only opinion that matters is yours Piet. Frankly, I can't see my tires when I'm driving my car, and I didn't buy mine for the accolades of others. Our cars are our OWN selfish pursuit, congrats on yours. I'd love to see your car next to my Formal Black 60 Windsor.
