This car looks like a real honest old sweetie...I love it! And speaking of motor being locked, some locked motors cannot be freed up without tearing apart, I have learned there is varied degrees of "locked up"...one of mine was so bad, I had to beat the pistons down with a sledge and a block of hardwood, hone it with WD-40, then beat the living piss out of them to get them back up and out, even after honing...keep that in mind. Really no big deal to pull motor and heads...chances are it needs rebuilding anyway.

Regular Posts: 87 | It does look like a good one Its looking like its in better shape than the one I already have so wasnt hard decision to pick it up instead of trying to hunt stuff down for the other. Guess I will see sat morning--thats when I'm hoping to pick her up. Motor is still in the car so it may still be something I can free up. Pull the motor and apply some PB blaster to bottom sides of the pistons---I do have a poly in the one I have that is not original to that car so I have that as a backup plan---I just want to leave right now to go get it lol Gonna be hard to wait out the week--

Posts: 19146 Location: bishop, ca | That shade of green was also the molded-in color that Johan models used on its 1961 Plymouth 1/25 scale models. Agree with Frank that this car's physical condition (driver's seat is torn, too) would make it tough to keep as a Survivor-driver. Its also got manual steering & brakes, as well as that stuck-motor; before-long, every one of its mechanical components would probably require an overhaul. If someone has the space to store this car, it would appear to be a pretty good parts car. Edited by d500neil 2011-11-02 6:12 PM

Regular Posts: 87 | With the roof details I'm thinking the white top would make it "pop" more--Top already has a sort of vert top look to it so just kind of looking to highlight it.

A white roof is the obvious choice......but why not black? Or maybe a darker blue/turquoise? A few pics to get you thinking..... The plain ones stand out as cool because they are so different. I hunted for years to find a monotone buzzard puke green dog dishie stripper Plymouth to restore as the antithesis of all things cliche bling about fin era cars. el Cheapos and plain janes are cool !!!

Regular Posts: 87 | WOW thanks for the all the photos--does give one ideas. The darker tops over lighter colors seem to weigh the cars down and make them look lower bigger and heavier--which I'm thinking my 61 really doesnt need any help with lol And I hear ya Doc--If I had several FL cars perhaps I would want one plain--buttttt this is my only one. I'm prob gonna make my 66 Mustang a sleeper but I want to be seen in this one
