Hi All,

Taking everyone's feedback into account, here's a 'finalized' rules statement.  If you vote not to accept, please provide your reason(s) in a reply below so we can all discuss.

Thanks,

-Dave

ForwardLook.net is a website and forum for all to enjoy. Membership is open to everyone, and owning a Forward Look vehicle is not required. Through your participation we hope this website continues to be a great place for people to gather, discuss these great cars and be entertained. This is a ‘public’ forum, so obviously certain rules must be established to ensure this site remains a great place for Forward Look vehicle enthusiasts to gather. These rules are outlined in more detail below, however most are simply common sense in nature – such as respect other members and do not engage in any illegal activity. The Forum Administrators reserve the rights to modify or change the below rules at any time without prior notification in order to maintain site integrity.

Forum Rules

  • No personal attacks. If you don't agree with what someone posted, debate the content of their post -- not the person that posted it. Please respect that everyone has their own opinion and tastes regarding originality and modifications. While debating and discussion is fine, we will not tolerate rudeness, insulting posts, personal attacks or purposeless inflammatory posts. Our decision is final in these matters.
  • Expressions of aggression or hatred based on race, ethnicity, sex, sexual orientation, disability, political affiliation, and religion are strictly prohibited. Certain topics such as religion or politics almost always incite strong feelings for some, so threads that refer to these may be closed at the discretion of the Moderator or Administrator staff.
  • Pornography/nudity, 'adult content', copyrighted content, or profanity of any kind are strictly prohibited. As a rough guideline, all content posted should meet the general decency standards for US broadcast television.
  • You agree to maintain a valid email address and real name in your profile at all times.
  • Each member is allowed one login account. Registering with multiple accounts is not allowed, nor is attempting to use another person's account without their explicit permission.
  • The Forward Look Network is an online "Club", and we expect others to respect that. Cross-website/forum wars or bashing will not be tolerated, and neither is excessive advertising for a non-affiliated club.
  • Spamming and trolling are not allowed. This includes using the forum email and Private Message (PM) system to spam other members.
  • No post or thread by any member will be considered representative of ForwardLook.net or its staff. All posts, attachments, and threads on ForwardLook.net are considered the property of ForwardLook.net and are free for personal use. Commercial use, harvesting and reposting on other websites all require explicit permission from the site administrators.
  • While these rules cover most common situations, they cannot anticipate everything. Consequently we reserve the right to take any actions we deem appropriate to ensure these forums are not disrupted or abused in any way.

If you feel a post has been made that is against any of the rules, please use the "Alert" feature by clicking the icon located in the upper right corner of each post. This will alert the forums staff to the issue. We reserve the right to remove offensive posts without notice.

The Moderators and Administrator staff will enforce these site rules as necessary, which may include giving warnings, suspensions or banning members from site use.
Suspensions/bans vary in level based on the severity of an offense and are given at the discretion of an administrator, and members can be suspended/banned from the site for a single offense if warranted. The member receiving the suspension/ban will receive an email explaining the offense and any time frames associated with the suspension/ban.

We have a good group of moderators here whose sole purpose is doing their best to help everyone get along. Whining about “censorship” or calling a moderator a “dictator” doesn’t change the fact you probably shouldn’t have done what you just did. If you have concerns about a moderation issue, please contact DesotoHead or Administrator to discuss.

"US broadcast" - agree, but I still have to chuckle out loud upon reading it, seems "broadcast" TV gets away with quite a bit.

Dave, as far as the 'real names' are concerned, is a(ny-) first name sufficient, for a profile?

Several posters are (still) anonymous, first or last names.

a general location listing should be a must do ! time after time someone has something for sale , leading to being asked where they are from . people also like to know if they are talking to someone in US , italy , or chile . i don't think anyone expects city or town but a state in general would be good ---------------------------------------------------------------------later
