Location: Parts Unknown | As cleared up by a recent thread, the Fury was the same as Plaza in all respects. I expect the keen historian making that claim would suggest they all got light-up ignition switches too ? Let's keep our facts straight, OK !

Most of our cars aren't driven much at night, and even if they are, they are not seen by others. Post a picture if you have one...

I have a 56 Dodge and my clock is next to the temp with the ash tray on the right of the clock. Do you know if it was different from 55 to 56? Greg, they actually switched position between clock and ash tray from 55 to 56, I've checked the owners manual to verify it's the correct positon. In my view when driving the ash tray is hidden by the steering wheel and I've a good view of the clock. My clock isn't working, it stopped at quarter to 6 when James Dean was killed in the accident in 1955.

Expert Posts: 1324 Location: Hickory, NC | The illuminated ignition switch on '57/'58 Plymouths was an option for sure. I don't think it was even standard on Furys. Definitely not standard on Belvederes. My 1960 Fury's dash. Looks like some kind of evil robot! Some of the green lenses have fallen off which is why some of the lights are not green...and the seal around some of the pushbuttons is gone..which allows the light to seep through.

Posts: 19146 Location: bishop, ca | If anyone (especially those with the separate push button module) has light leaking from around the push-buttons, you can, simply, custom cut-out a piece of felt, so that the felt closes-tightly around the buttons, but does not affect their movement.

Board Moderator & Exner Expert 10K+ Posts: 13049 Location: Southern Sweden - Sturkö island | In addition to the felt, there's also some card board tunnels that block the light leaking around the temp lever and the turn signal lever on the '60-'62

Elite Veteran Posts: 608 Location: Madison, Wisconsin | I am curious about those of you have converted your dash lights to LED. Are you using the replacement LED lights they sell on Ebay? Do you have a problem with LED lights directing the light only forward (depending on how the bulb is mounted in the dash. How many LED/s per bulb did you use? Did you replace with white LED lights or did you use the color of your dash (I.E. green)?

I always get a warm safe feeling whenever I see the glow of the dash from one of these old cars. I flash back to the days being a kid sitting on the edge of the back seat resting my chin on the back of the front seat looking down the road as we traveled to great grandma's or on vacation. We always left on a Friday night after Grandpa got home from work. He loved to travel at night when the traffic was almost nonexistent. Edited by Phils55 2013-09-16 11:24 PM
