Veteran Posts: 214 | I'll try and get some photos up of the interior. The front seat is worn, other than that, the interior is not that bad really. Headliner is good, door panels and back seat are good. The photos do make the car look better than it looks in person but generally it is in pretty decent shape. Sometimes the brakes are sticky if it sits for awhile, not an oil burner, and it even has the original dealer frame on the back plate. Edited by Nick Nichols 2013-04-06 7:27 PM

Veteran Posts: 214 | Here are some photos of the Chrysler. The photos show some rust along the roof. There is also a bit of rust along the front of the hood that isn't shown in the photos. The trunk opening also has some rust along the right side, seems common for these cars. I have a '61 Chrysler and have had other '60 Chryslers that have had the trunk rust along the same right side. I can take more photos if anyone wishes and post them here. The photos are a bit washed out, should be a bit darker. The rust is probably why the car hasn't sold along with the tired interior. Expert 5K+ Posts: 7207 Location: Victoria, BC, on Vancouver Island, Canada | 2 comments - this is an LA built car evidenced by the black painted fender wells. It's also very early production evidenced by the data tag plate over on the right side of the firewall by the hood hinge. So Nick, is this rust on the roof areas typical from the foggy salt air of the Bay area? I live on the southern tip of Vancouver Island, BC Canada, and have never seen rust like this on old cars from here, but we get very little fog. The rust we get is typical from the bottom up, around fender lips, rocker panels, headlight pots etc. on these old beasts but our climate is nowhere near so severe a climate like the midwest salt belt where frames rust out. Veteran Posts: 298 Location: Nashville, TN | imopar380, Probably a dumb question, but, is the fake spare tire original, and/or is there an OEM current production? Nice car by the way!

Nice car by the way! The "fake spare tire" on mine is actually a factory option on 1961-1962 Chrysler, and they called it the "Flite-Sweep" deck lid option. Imperials had their own versions as options from '57 to '61, and then in '63 again. Plymouth also had their own version as an option in 59-60. There are no current OEM reproductions of them.

Veteran Posts: 298 Location: Nashville, TN | I guess mounting the spare tire up there would be a little tacky. But the factory option sure does look good, kind of Imperialish. I sure do like my DeSoto! and my new 1960 Saratoga...when she gets here....I got the bug really bad. 4 doors are the thing!
