Must be nice... We had rain yesterday... at 32 degrees, and pavement that has been -20 for a week or so, you can imagine what we have now here.

Ditto here in Michigan. I have the garage heater going. Need to get out there and start cleaning. There is so much moisture though that I have to have fans going to help dry out the car and all the tools. They are covered in condensation.

Not much of a tan on him; life's a BEACH, and it looks like your weather is a sunny-beach (those are shadows, there, right?).

The real estate market and the unemployment rate for Florida aren't anywhere near as fair-weather as the actual weather.

It is the rare person who travels the world, thinks about where they like it best, and moves
there, .... as opposed to just spending one's life in the general area they were born or it involved
following a job, etc.

I recently met someone who had never been to the north edge of town ! Met a few over the
years that had never left the state or county, but never venturing to the edge of town ??? !

My parents dragged the family to the swamps of Seattle and I spent 30 years hating the ceaseless
grey and rain there before it dawned on me that no one was holding a gun to my head, forcing
me to stay. I took care of business, sold my excess junk, and was gone within the year.

I travel to some places and cannot believe ANYONE would choose to live there !

Hey Doc, I really like reading your comments, and as a compliment, I think we both have the same warped sense of humor! Sometimes it takes a while to know what you want to do and I think we have to try things that might not be right (living in a swamp) so that we can tell when they are.

In my own very subjective attempt at de-stressing my life (it is working very well) I used to define contentment (a way more achievable state the happiness) as when my sock and underwear drawer where full, but I think I will have to add living in a place that feels like paradise.

Oh, while I have you on the phone, just a quick tech question, not sure if this is in your field of expertise, but on my 56 Plodge 2 door Suburban the back-up light lenses are broken and when I removed the lenses there is no bulb socket or wiring, nothing. What gives? In reading my Canadian parts book I see that in one of the USA States, dummy (that’s me) lenses where available, only Mother Chrysler huh?

Thanks.

Back up lights were optional, even on higher end DeSotos, so I am SURE your Plodge was
option-available with them too, .... or more pointedly, your car did not get optioned with them.

Contentedness .... yes. Afghanistan was a real eye opening experience for what is and is
NOT worthy of complaint, ... and pretty much nothing is that bad when we know how rough
it can be. Most people really have no clue how much worse a situation could get, or even consider
pondering such a notion.

I live in paradise. Not a day goes by I don't feel like I am on vacation living here. That is a
great place to start from when seeking contentedness.

I enjoy living in Prince Edward Island. 3500 square miles and only 145000 people. I bought 8.75 acres with a good solid farm house for less than a restored 1960 300F. I have a beautiful sandy beach 2 minutes from home. The folks are super friendly and we're about 25 years behind everyone when it comes to red tape and other BS.

Not withstanding the fact that it's called Tornado Alley, I have been content and happy living in Oklahoma City since
moving from St.Louis, MO in 1939. That excepts: 2 years in NYC, NY, 3 years in Columbia, MO, 2 years in Springfield, MO,
and 5 years in Kansas, when I worked for the godless, blackhearted insurance company, that now pays me the
unbelievable sum of $271.00/mo. retirement. Came home to Oklahoma in 1976! ! !

I found the rolling hill country of OK to be beautiful. Went through one time and the humidity
was three million percent and it was flat miserable, but other times, it has just been wonderfully
pleasant.

Sounds beautiful, toddst!

Maritimers are among my favourite Canadians. And PEI is a lovely, peaceful paradise, IMHO.
