I've been going round and round with questions and replies about a bubble windshield I have. I have not been able to find a NAGS # anywhere on the windshield. Let me ask my question this way: Are all bubble windshields (with the probable exception of Imperials) interchangeable between Chrysler automobiles? Will a windshield from a 60 Chrysler fit a 61 Dodge for example? Your patience with my ignorance is appreciated. Jim

Under the W453, your second line should read, "1959 Plymouth hardtop". Otherwise, you are correct for the W453.

My doc shows there were three different FL era BUBBLE windshields. These are correct for the following cars:

W453
1957-59 Plymouth convertible
1959 Plymouth hardtops
1957-59 Dodge convertible
1958-59 Dodge hardtops
1957-59 DeSoto convertible
1958-59 DeSoto hardtops
1957-59 Chrysler convertible
1958-59 Chrysler hardtops

W465
1957-63 Imperial (all)

W590
1960 Chrysler
1960 Plymouth
1961 Plymouth convertible
1960 Dodge
1961 Dodge convertible
1962-64 Dodge 880 convertible
1960 DeSoto
1961-62 Chrysler convertible

My '61 Chrysler 2DHT (April build) has a bubble windshield. I was under the impression that the early '61 cars got them before switching to the flat type. So my car doesn't make sense, unless the windshield was replaced with the bubble type later on.

But then again, Ma Mopar did what she wanted a lot of the time...

I got Chrysler 2DHT build in (Nov 60) with the flat type windshield - as they all were. I bet yours has been replaced. On that era there were lots of dirt roads and lost of broken windshileds!

Far as I understand, the compound windshields was more expensive to produced and that this was the reason for that MoPar stopped using them in 1961. The 61-62 convertibles got the compound windshield as "icing on the cake". A broken or damaged windshield would surely be replaced with the one at hand, or the one the customer wanted (eventually at an extra cost).

As ronbo97 said above, under the W453, second line should read "1959 Plymouth hardtops".

The flat windshield for '61 cars (exc. conv.) is W604. It also fits '62-64 Dodge 880 and '62-64 Chrysler (exc. conv.).
