There's nothing like Hands On Experience with these cars our appreciation only gets better and the car grows on you.I was also interested in the drive train question 57burb had as I've started to work on my 354 sort of [gathering some Old School Parts] I'm trying to track down a set of matching WCFB dual carbs primary# 2444s and secondary 2445s originals I think, what numbers are yours? One more question the air horn rings, what you tell me about them? Thanks! They're actually early sixties 450CFMs off a Pontiac. They work well on the 331, the air cleaners fit, and they are relatively affordable! Air horn rings? Just the stock originals, not sure of the diameter. The rear seat board getting vinyl covered to blend in for the rear comparment. Probably will look similiar to the back seat delete max wedge cars. No evidence of a tray ever being there. Expert Posts: 1770 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Location: Alaska | My 58 business coupe came to me with no interior. What was interesting was all the brackets for the rear seat had been torched off from the factory. I could tell this because of the original paint so my car must have been sold with no rear seat.

Expert Posts: 1385 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Location: Ocala, Florida | So finally got some time together tonight to tinker a little. Getting close now. Interior trim came back from powder coating. Headliner almost finished, got one door all complete, and finished out the dash trim. Also got the pattern off the original back seat delete panel. A bit thicker and larger than the usual cardboard that goes behind the seat. So lets see what we can do tomorrow! ![]() (20170407_200424-1328x747.jpg) (20170407_174226-1328x747.jpg) (20170407_174216-1328x747.jpg) (20170407_200354-1328x747.jpg) Attachments ---------------- ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Exner Expert 10K+ Posts: 10635 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Location: Lower Mainland BC | Looking good. So what are you going to use to make a new behind the seat panel? I can get panels of 11 ply 1/2" thick baltic birch (very stable, non-warping) plywood up here in 5 ft x 5ft pieces. Might work for you.

Expert Posts: 1385 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Location: Ocala, Florida | So here is the rear compartment. Just about buttoned up. I believe it is similiar to how it looked on day one. Vinyl over panel and wheel arches. The glue residue was there originally. So I assume it was something similiar to the material used on the wagons. Almost done anyways. I need to find some props to put back there. (20170423_130406-1328x747.jpg) Attachments ---------------- ![]()

It's like a government issue unmarked car like something an FBI agent would drive. Looks like you need to angle your rear bumper downward a bit though.

Extreme Veteran Posts: 585 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Location: SE Arizona | Been a while since I’ve been on here. Randy your car is beautiful. I don’t think you could have picked a better color or drivetrain for the car. The Business Coupe was a rare car and I really like that you kept the features that made it unique. I’ve got a 57 Plaza I built to drive to Tulsa in 07 and am currently revisiting the car and making a few changes. I came across your video on you tube yesterday and found your build thread this morning. The similarities between our cars surprised me. Mine started life as a Club Sedan with a 6 Cyl and powerflight. Fortunately it was virtually rust free so I didn’t have near the work you did on the body. I ended up doing 1 piece stationary rear windows (mostly because to me it makes the roof line visually less boxy looking). I’m running a 56 354 Hemi and an A833 Overdrive 4 speed with a 9 ¼” rear end with 4.10 gears. Mine currently runs a Tri-Power (the reason I had to add the hood scoop). I have a 57 Dual Quad intake sitting on the bench right now that I need to build a couple carbs for. I mostly just want to see if there is going to be any difference in performance with it. The best I’ve got for a build thread on mine is an old video I did about 10 years ….. the qualities not great but it pretty much shows what I did. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eVwm8FDXitA Like I said Randy yours is a GREAT car, you did nice work. Expert Posts: 1385 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Location: Ocala, Florida | My father and I just appeared on Discovery channels "Sticker Shock". It was a really fun experience. They shipped the car to L.A. and arranged for us flights to appear with it. Really was a fun journey...and a pretty good appraisal for what I believe to be rarest/cleanest Plaza on the road.
