Posts: 19146 Location: bishop, ca | YES; 57 Dodge 2-door sill plates; years ago, bought re-pop Dodge sill plates, but, they soon lost their new-shiny appearance, and now look like they're dull, 30 year old pieces..... ...Not at all like the 'new' appearance of the ones, above. Will these sill plates retain their bright-shiny appearance? Edited by d500neil 2015-05-18 7:35 PM

Expert Posts: 1208 Location: SWITZERLAND | Impressive to see the high quality of the reproduced parts. I would say nicer than original and as would be a CAD Picture. Jan is a really a mechanical artist! Neil: if the sill plates are in Aluminium as original, they have to be anodized for keeping nice. If in stainless steel then just polish them from time to time.

The sill plates that I bought, many years ago, were/are not very shiny, and do not look 'new'. Edited by d500neil 2015-05-19 3:15 PM

Expert Posts: 1207 Location: Ponder, TX | Anyone know if the sills on the Dodge and Plymouth 2-doors are the same length as the Chrysler? My '56 Plymouth is not a restoration, but I badly need something nice to cover the carpet edge, so the decorative stamping is not important if I can make it fit. Expert 5K+ Posts: 9670 Location: So. Cal | Very impressive. This gives a whole new meaning to investment castings. 1.6 tons of steel is quite an investment! This looks like the rear valance for a '60-'61. Can you tell us what it is exactly? Edit: Oh yes, I forgot that you were going to do a convertible header. Edited by Powerflite 2016-11-27 8:25 PM

Expert Posts: 2788 Location: USA - KY | I recently received a new set of Jan's repro door sills for my '57 2-door DeSoto, and they are awesome! Thank goodness for talented folks such as Jan. It would be impossible to find a decent set of door sills for my car if it were not for artists like Jan. Despite attempts at polishing, my car's tired, old, original door sills stuck out like a sore thumb once my car's resto was finally done. They had to go, but I had no other choice except to keep them as replacements were not available...until Jan saved the day, that is. The new sills are like the icing on the cake. Thanks for making the unobtainable, obtainable, Jan...and thanks to Mike too!
