Hey guys...I put AutoZone shocks on the dodge two years ago, and they are already wasted. Can I run 65 c-body shocks in the front with some modifications? Can I use challenger units in the back?

I hope this helps. I contacted KYB a while back because I couldn't find anyone who listed shocks for the front of my 61 Chrysler. They provided product numbers for the front and back shocks that they had found to work on my vehicle. The front shocks needed to have the bottom mount ground down somewhat-they provided the specs. They improved handling, but I need to add front and back anti sway bars sometime.

Desoto Frank,

I will look though my files tonight and get back to the forum with what ever I find. I should have the part numbers. I remember that a local speed shop wanted something like $50 for the rears and $60 for fronts (each!). I got them through one of the big internet racing parts sites for $28 each.

Ray,

Thanks for the part numbers !

FYI, there is a Monroe listing for the '65-'73 Chrysler full-size:

Monroe-Matic #5811.

I just picked-up a set of Monroe-Matics for the rear of the '60 Windsor.

If you can find some Konis you'd be well off...

Either NOS or used ones, they are economically rebuildable as long as the shaft hasn't worn through. I also suspect that there will be some interchangeable stuff from Landcruisers etc that will do the rear end of most Chrysler products.
