Extreme Veteran Posts: 467 Location: Sweden | I looked at the Fireflite last year and its a good solid car but unfortunatly it has an older amatuer resto on it. Dan the owner bought it partly disasambled and after he put it together it has parked in the carport for a couple of years At that time he asked 70k and i offered him 50k and thats what i think is a fair value on this car. Apperently he thinks it is a bar of gold but it needs a lot of work to make it nice.

Expert Posts: 1488 Location: New Castle PA | Many years ago I offered the former owner $20K when the car was in parts, which at the time I thought was a fair price. He also thought it was worth 5X that. As I recall, the car is painted with an epoxy airplane paint.

Location: The Mile High City | seven-button radio, power windows - it has some neat options just by the pictures. I am surprised it does not have bumper guards. It looks like there is a tissue dispenser under the glove box? For a car that has been dismantled at one time, the interior looks great. Edited by Lancer Mike 2015-08-12 3:41 PM

Expert Posts: 2788 Location: USA - KY | . Wow, that would be a SUPER NICE car to own, and to bring back to its rightful glory. BUT, I must be getting grumpy these days, as I am becoming rather weary of folks trying to sell their cars to "serious buyers only", when they themselves cannot bother being serious SELLERS...especially when they insist on demanding top dollar prices. Drag that thing out of that dusty garage and into the sunshine where it belongs, clean it from stem to stern, and take some decent photos of the entire car that might actually be useful to a "serious buyer". I know it's only spit and polish that adds no real value, but when one is apparently asking 1/8th of a million dollars for a car, I don't think it's too much to ask. Just a peeve of mine. See?...I'm just getting grumpy... Having written all of that, I'd still love to own it. .

Expert Posts: 2524 Location: Houston | The thought is that if you are dumb enough to pay $125K for it, you'll also be dumb enough to buy the car in a filthy and ill-presented state. What he's after is a dumb buyer who happens to have a lot of money.

Expert Posts: 1728 Location: Fleetwood, Pa | Honestly, if you had a vehicle that you thought was worth $125K wouldn't you at least keep it in a locked garage??? I wonder how much he has it insured for??? I have a parts car in a better storage facility.......

Expert Posts: 1479 Location: Pacific Northwest | Listing keeps popping up every now and then. Has anyone kept tabs on this or tried to talk some sense into the seller? 1960ny, what sort of reply did you get when you offered 50,000? did he just scoff at it or tell you to "get off my property!"? http://sfbay.craigslist.org/eby/cto/5331575157.html
