Location: Georgetown Texas | I would love to get new carpet in my 61 as it is very worn out, however ACC and several other carpet manufacturers do not have it available. When I called ACC carpet the lady told me when they tried to buy the molds from Chrysler the 4 door molds had been destroyed.
My question is, how much longer, if any, is the four door's carpet than the two door. the pictures it looks the same, and if we are just talking an inch the bench seat will cover that anyway. Just thought I would ask before i bought it and regretted it.

Location: The Great Northwest | I got the same reply from ACC when trying to buy molded carpet for my 61 4 door New Yorker. The front sheet metal is the same for the two door and four door NYer as far as the carpet goes. Having seen the process that is used to make molded carpets, I asked if they would make a set for a two door but let the rear carpet piece run one foot longer when they cut it. She checked with the guys in the back and they said they could do that. The result is a perfect set of molded carpets for a 61 NYer four door hardtop.
I did call them back and indicated that the carpet they produced worked fine for a four door hardtop but they aren't going to advertise that they make four door molded carpet. You could call them and ask them make a set like the set they made for the 61 NYer just by letting the rear molded piece run a foot longer in the back end. It can't hurt to ask if you know that the front piece for the 61 Imperial two door will also work for the four door.

Location: Perth Australia | Same with me when I was after a carpet for my dodge, I just got a 2 door one and they didnt trim it, worked fine (except the fit over the trans tunnel up front is terrible)

which is a bad sales idea for them, there were far more 4 doors made than 2 doors generally |
