Hey Brad, glad to hear your business is busy, lots aren't!! I'm replacing the bucket-and-console modern interior in my '60 Fury with original bench seats, after riding around in old drop tops in Cuba recently I've realized how important seats are to the old car experience. Newer buckets, steering wheel and some other details just don't cut it now

I'm replacing the bucket-and-console modern interior in my '60 Fury with original bench seats, after riding around in old drop tops in Cuba recently I've realized how important seats are to the old car experience. Location: Montreal, Canada		I have lots of little things to do to my car and I thought I could take my time and do it slowly, but my car has been selected to be featured in a big indoor car show in early april, so it's gotta be ready then!

Here's the list of my winter detailing stuff to do:

- Paint and install rear lower valence panels
- Steering wheel repaired and repainted
- Interior mirror and top of dash moldings repainted
- Quarter windows removed, rear slider repaired, then reinstalled
- Driver's front fender adjusted to close gaps at the door and the hood
- Front valence repainted and adjusted
- Front bumper wings installed properly and driver's side rechromed
- Grille, headlight bezels and eyebrow mouldings reanodized
- Chrome the instrument cluster surround and installe 150 -mile speedo
- Fenders behind the grille painted semi-gloss black

Some of these I have started or even done already, but the rest, I will do in the next month or so.

Yes. Mandatory 10 hour days, work Saturday on America's Jets, gets dark earlier every day....Someone has to protect this country...Sequester will be lifted soon, Just may start building F35's.

Looking good David!! I removed my grille today, going to take the chrome frame to Electro-Shine locally this week for a re-chroming job. My Christmas present. :-)

Location: Alberta		Your project is progressing just as scheduled I see. Are you sure you need the dual carburators and those air cleaners…………………..LOL because I could find use for them. No seriously they look great I bought a set for my 413 last spring and haven't got anything done with that motor yet, another long story any way I'm working on a 354 HEMI and looking for another set of WCFB Carbs for the dual quad intake and just seeing yours I was thinking you may have a lead for me I'll include a photo here of the intake I'm using Keep up the good work and don't let everyday life slow you down
Oh I just noticed your battery disconnect is installed on the negative on your battery and I would be concerned that if you have grounding issues you have the potential to complete the circuit "just my thoughts"

Location: Montreal, Canada		My carbs are not WCFB, they are modern Edelbrock units. I would prefer originals, but these things work fine.

Yes, the battery disconnect is on the negative, and that is how I was advised to install it.. What you are saying makes sens though, but I don't think I've ever seen one installed on the positive?


Projects are coming along nicely, last weekend was spent entirely on repairing the rear quarter windows so they would go up and down correctly (they worked so bad that the former owner had fixed them shut).

Location: Alberta		Ya my disconnect switch is installed on the negative too. I've have the same problem with the rear side windows in both my cars and I haven't tackled them yet. Great to see you hard at it it keeps encouraged to go forward looking LOL

It is real chrome, of course.

Cost me 200$ CDN, and it is only one wing I had to have plated.

That is the correct Christine movie plate, no sticker, nothing. It is only there for an interior car show I'll be doing next month. I usually run no plates in front or a 1958 Quebec plate.

No time to get bored!

Had the leaf springs reworked and suspension adjusted to lower the car yesterday, then, I have to get alignement done, and still have the rear valences to install and rearmost ends of the exhaust pipes corrected so they don't exit straight in the rear, and then the paint will be polished just before the show... and a holiday to Portugal in the middle of that, and the show is in a month!... All will be fine, but schedule is tight!

You know as much as some folks squeak ("OMG another red '58 Plymouth") the darn car just looks fantastic in red and white. That colour combo is a favorite of mine but on a couple of different cars ...1960 Desoto, 1962/'63 Dodge & Plymouth and '81 to '84 Dodge Aries/Plymouth Reliant! As much as I like my 58s when it comes to how the '58 car "presents" (the illusion of length, the sweep of the fin etc.) the red with the bright Sportone and the wingtip guards, wide whites , the whole package.... makes it one dang good looking beast!!! The Savoy/Regent Sportone although not bad just doesn't do it like the full length "sweep spear" !! Nice car!
BTW I finally broke down and picked up a "Victor" key fob for my Fury....but she's gonna have to stay Buckskin Beige.... have fun!

Paradoxically, I am actually one of those "not another red Plymouth!" guys!... But that's only when I see good cars in other nice colours being repainted in red. Otherwise, I like the colour on 58 Plymouths, and am obviously not the only one, as the original sales litterature was full of red coupes. The colour suits this particular model very well.

In this case, if my car had been beige, I would have never ever repainted it red.. But, it was red when I got it, so I will never ever repaint it beige! haha
