Regular Posts: 50 | OK I give up. I haev tried everywhere to find these. How are you all doing it? I am assuming they are available, since I see so many nice 57's and 58's that seem to have pristine rubber. I have seals in my vent window frames but they are not fitting correctly. I am not sure if it is a problem with the frame or they are not fitted correctly in teh first place. But they both have dropped away and down from the top corners. Any ideas?

Regular Posts: 50 | Mine are complete, not open ended like those..Oh and yep! Andy and I have been emailing. He tells me they do not make those anymore. But I did get all the other sweeps, whiskers and vertical rear window seals and front window channel seals, plus hood to cowl seals from him..

Regular Posts: 50 | Guys. I am still looking for these VENT window seals. Not the QUARTER window ones. Vent windows are the ones right at the front that flip out. Gary Goers is a NO GOER! I have tried for 6 months to get a response from him. Where are all these restos and Christine clones getting those rubbers from?

Expert 5K+ Posts: 5006 | I believe they are sold out. I was able to grab a set but I will be hoarding them like they gold. I think I have enough vent windows to scrounge up what I need and they are usable.

Regular Posts: 50 | HI are you saying you have new seals? I do not need windows or frames etc. I have those already. How much do you want for the seals?

Elite Veteran Posts: 977 Location: Sydney, Australia | NOOOO!!! I was going to get a new set from Gary's but in hearing this...... I have the same problem. My vent windows won't close and the rubbers have dropped in the top corners and all hard. I heated them and stretched them back into place but still won't close. My next idea was to either soak them in brake fluid or buy the actual product to soften them again.. Both ways have been successful with restorers.

Expert 5K+ Posts: 5006 | I need my seals, not for sale. There should be two types I think one for bubble top and one for flat windshield, not sure about 4doors

Regular Posts: 50 | OK.. I don't have a 4 door. I have a 2 door hardtop. But since you are not selling it's not helping me for this particular car. Someone on facebook suggested the brake fluid soaking thing. But I heard that did not work for them either. Mine are like yours Matte. Dropped away at the top corners. We think we found a rubber profile that is close if not the same as the original one. Looks like I have to try and recreate the seal using 2 pieces of that.

Have a look because it's quite interesting.. Let me know what you come up with. Edited by matte 2017-08-04 5:00 AM

Veteran Posts: 111 Location: Aurora, Co | I emailed back & forth with Andy B about 2 weeks ago regarding Vent Window Rubber for my 56 Firedome 4 dr Sedan. (2 sets of Vent Windows). Andy says he can make them on order but it takes about 3 weeks. Spendy little buggers @ $250 per pair but what other choice do we have? Give him a call & see what he says. Later.
