I got under my car to check out the parking brake and see oil coming out of it so I guess I did fry the seal? Before I go tearing it apart, I would like to have the seal.

I found 2 different seals. My 1960 parts book shows unde section 21-5-12 powerflight tail seal #1671 763[TIMKIN #8160S] yet the parts place says that that # is for 1956-58 "small seal". It says for 1959-61 use the same as the 3 spd. sandard #1824 075 [TIMKIN#330663] "large seal". If I have the correct #s, it looks like both are available at Advance Auto. Which is the correct seal for the 1960 powerflight in my Plymouth?

Thanks again,
Karl.

went to NAPA and I don't think he liked me because he had to get off the computer and open a book. He said the seal is a 1 year Plymouth only. That doesn't sound right? Gave me 2 more #s. One was availalbe in a day and the other would have to be special shipped. Are either of these #s correct? #11518 and #15620.

Does anyone have a 1960 Plymouth powerflight out that might be able to measure the seal diameters? I can match up the specs on the seals.

Thanks,
Karl.

If you enter the original factory P/N into the NAPA interchange search it shows 15620 as the interchange.

I checked the specs on the 15620 and they are the same as the TIMKEN #8160S that I found. The # NAPA gave me was different than the one you gave me and the specs were different + he told me it was a 1 year only so I believe your # is correct and found the #8160S cross ref. to around 10 different MOPAR #s and I found those #s in several of my earlier parts books as trans seals.

Thanks for the info,

Karl.
