Expert Posts: 3480 Location: Montreal, Canada | This car has been for sale for as long as I can remember. It is very nice, except for that awkward trim fitment on the door and front fender, on the driver's side. I still cannot understand why anyone would have done that in a restoration (moulding is way too high, and making a straight line with the rear quarter moulding, while they are correctly installed on the passenger side).

Expert 5K+ Posts: 5006 | I think the horrid trim mounting would scare me away because the restorer is obviously clueless. I hope he didn't drill holes and mount it like that. I mean weld the holes up and then put it on sideways? WTF. That car sold for 225k? and they are offering at 129K We know whoever restored it was obviously an idiot but was it in a wreck? Maybe not a true D500?

They probably used this promo as a reference for mounting the driver side moldings: Edited by soiouz 2017-06-08 10:11 AM (21681.jpg) (21681b.jpg) Attachments ---------------- 21681.jpg (101KB - 100 downloads) 21681b.jpg (93KB - 85 downloads)

Expert 5K+ Posts: 9681 Location: So. Cal | Yeah the quarter trim is mostly right, but the door and fender trim is angled way up. They had to do this on purpose, but why is the question. I noticed on my New Yorker that the quarter trim angles down a lot more than the door and fender. Maybe they were trying to straighten it out, but they actually went even worse with it in the other direction. Makes it look freaky.

Expert Posts: 4654 | Do they have the CHS build card ? Unless I saw a build card, I would not believe that it is a true Super D500............ Is there a different designated number/letter on the block ?

Is there a different designated number/letter on the block ? According to the trim plate, this is a true Super D500 Coronet convertible.
