Cal | Looks pretty decent, although I would change a lot of things like the motor color, seat fabric etc. https://www.ebay.com/itm/401429259889?ul_noapp=true&autorefresh=true 1957 Chrysler New Yorker, 392 HEMI V8 - 2 Door Hardtop This 1957 New Yorker has a powerful 392 cu in (6.4 L) Hemi V8 engine rated at 325 hp (242 kW). The 1957 Chrysler was redesigned by Virgil Exner's "Forward Look" Comes with a TorqueFlite 3-speed automatic transmission and a Torsion bar suspension called Torsion-Aire that gave smoother handling and ride quality to the car. Early model year production had single headlamps with quad headlamps optional where state regulations permitted them as this car is. This car was built in Los Angeles CA in 1957 see VIN: N57L1709 This Car has had a complete exterior and interior redo, has New Two Tone Paint job and some New Chrome, New Tires, New Front and Back Seats, New Headliner and Chrome Bows, New Trunk Kit. Although Not Rebuilt, this Engine runs great, has new Edelbrock Power Pack Carburetor, updated Alternator, Coil and Distributor and New Battery. This engine has been Detailed. Keeping in mind that this is a 60 Year Old Car, with care it would make a great driver. if you have any questions please contact me, 650-280-1472. I would encourage serious buyers to visit and see this car for yourself. Thank you... Expert 5K+ Posts: 9672 Location: So. Cal | According to Doc, an LA car would have P/A black inner fenders & core support so it might have actually come stock with them that way. And looking at my LA built '58 Coronet & '56 Plymouth, both of them have black inner fenders so I have to agree with him, although I don't care for the way it looks that way. My LA built '57 New Yorker also had black inner fenders, but since the car body is black, that doesn't say much. Edited by Powerflite 2017-10-24 12:57 PM

And looking at my LA built '58 Coronet & '56 Plymouth, both of them have black inner fenders. That 57 is very nice but there are obviously somethings that a purist wouldn't like. My LA-built 56 Dodge Custom Royal D-500 has black inner fenders and rad support. The firewall is the saddle colour (which as I discover was most likely the first colour applied to the body (maybe not the roof) - the overspray under the carpet area is also the saddle colour). Expert 5K+ Posts: 7207 Location: Victoria, BC, on Vancouver Island, Canada | My LA built 60 Saratoga also has black inner-fender wells and core support, while the firewall is body color. Overall it looks pretty nice but I don't care for the way it's been two-toned. The body side sweep and roof should be white, and the rest of the car turquoise, or the body all white with the sweep and the roof in turquoise. Edited by imopar380 2017-10-24 3:21 PM

Expert Posts: 3967 Location: DFW, TX | There are few factory cars that wear a two-toning better than a '57 New Yorker, but you have to play by the rules dealt by Exner. That's all I'm going to say about that. Looks like a good car that you can drive and enjoy without fear of screwing up an untouched original. Six days left, up to $15k in two bids, and reserve not yet met. I wonder what it's going to sell for.

Don't disagree but there is a third option: do the sweep in a third colour. I was thinking an anodized textured aluminum when I attempted this "Paint-o-shop": (57Chrysler3ToneAttempt.jpg) Attachments ---------------- 57Chrysler3ToneAttempt.jpg (159KB - 240 downloads)

Are you one of those snobbish Chrysler elitist types? Location: Parts Unknown | The botched 2-toning (WTF is going on at the front where there is no trim ?) and the radials look like real trailer park craftsmanship. Tires are easy enough to swap, but paint and body work is a serious commitment to change. One of Exner's finest though ....

Expert Posts: 2524 Location: Houston | lol.... As for criticizing this car, I'm only picking on the stuff I don't like. The interior? Not original but it wouldn't bother me. At least, the fact that it's not 100% original doesn't bother me though the quality of work might. Hell, if it were me the car would have some decent rubber on it, too.
