Location: Parts Unknown | The painted headlight surrounds are largely unobtainium and many Custom Royals have been fitted with the non-custom series chromed jobs because the owners over the years could not find the right ones when the originals were damaged.

I just checked the PNs of the headlight "doors" in Section 8-34-40 of the Parts Catalogue pdf and the answer is probably no. (Different PNs). But hey, worth a try. Otherwise, it might be possible to epoxy a crack or two back together on yours. Maybe

Expert 5K+ Posts: 9915 Location: Lower Mainland BC | Well that was fast. It seems to be gone, deleted, no longer there. I was going to contact the seller regarding paint and trim codes but I can't now. I would have guessed the paint code would be 265 Sapphire white roof Jade Green Poly saddle Sea Foam Green lower Edited by 56D500boy 2017-12-07 7:02 PM

He says that he took them off a Coronet parts car that he has (didn't say why) 2. Paint codes, etc: "underhood tag reads 11 11 07 045 body 836----paint 265----trim 543 terry in okc"

Location: Parts Unknown | I have owned several 56 Dodges over the years, all Custom series cars. The crisp line of the small, chrome-edge headlight bezels being one of the most attractive details these cars can offer, I just could not bring myself to putting my efforts into a car without them if cars with them were out there. Just the picky SOB I am. As a result of such ownerships, I have found myself in the place of knowing firsthand just how easily those little chrome edges are damaged, and thusly hard to find nice ones. And resultantly how others less picky, gave up when their's were damaged and simply replaced them with the more durable and easy to find all-chrome jobs of the Coronet and Royal series cars. My last 56 Dodge was a Custom Sierra. I was the 2nd owner. I bought it from the original owners' son, who incidentally drove his mother to the dealership to take delivery of their special- ordered car. When I bought the car, it wore the all-chrome bezels, as it did in 1987, when I first saw it being driven by the original owner. The son told me the car had always had those chrome jobs. Now, an interesting story might explain his claims of incorrect equipment being on the car as delivered .... He said his parents were both very excited by the new Dodge design for 1956 and decided to buy one. Mom wanted a wagon and insisted on the colors. Dad wanted the D500 package. What was not known to the son was if they ordered a Sierra or a Custom Sierra, but he told me that when he took his mother to pick up the car, a flustered and embarrassed sales staffer had to explain to them that the car had "accidentally" been sold by an unknowing staffer. Mom was furious and pitched quite a fit and staff promised to get a replacement out to them as quickly as possible. When they returned to get the second car, it was delivered as a Custom Sierra, and I suspect, the originally ordered and delivered car was actually a plain Sierra, and to cover for the discrepancy (perhaps Mom noticed ?), the headlight bezels were quickly swapped out for the all-chromies ??? Or perhaps the son remembered it wrong, and Dad had put the all-chromies on when he mashed up the Custom series bezels at some point ??? Both are gone now, and the history was never documented ....

Expert 5K+ Posts: 9915 Location: Lower Mainland BC | I spoke with the seller (Terry) at his request today. He just thought that the chrome bezels (doors) looked better than the OE Custom Royal headlight "doors" and since he had a Coronet (or Royal) parts car he just swapped the chrome ones onto his Custom Royal Lancer. After talking to me, he decided to try to get the proper trim back from his friend (to whom he had sold them). Terry was hoping that I was going to buy his car or at least knew somebody who was interested. I told him that I had posted a link on this forum and there could be interested parties based on that. Maybe. I can't find the auction again. Found it (again) where does it go? https://www.ebay.ca/itm/1956-Dodge-Other/292357867435?hash=item4411e... Edited by 56D500boy 2017-12-10 9:08 PM
