| I goofed up and buggered the first few threads on the driver's axle shaft when using the janky slide hammer from the parts store. How do I go about getting the axle shaft out of the car? The end was mushroomed a bit when pulling the drum, as well. |

Location: Southern Sweden - Sturkö island | Use a pipe and a flat piece of steel and pull the shaft out with the crown nut.
If the threads are molested you need a thread file

| Do I put the pipe on the axle shaft (behind the castle nut) and hit it with the steel bar? What's the thread pitch/nut size specifically for the axle shaft?

Location: Southern Sweden - Sturkö island | No, the pipe must rest on the axle tube, adapted in lenght, the flat steel plate with a hole that fits the axle shaft resting on the pipe and the use the nut to pull the axle shaft out.
The wrench size is 1-1/4", so I presume that the threads are 3/4" UNF |

Location: Suwanee, GA | You did disconnect the brake line and remove the backing plate first, correct? Pay attention to any shims. I imagine it's the same as 62. See link.

3/4-16 is the thread size for my 62 Chrysler.

| I have everything torn out of the rear axle, including the shocks! I kept track of all the shims as well. I take it I need a stiff file and 3/4'' die to right my wrong. Fortunately, the threads aren't fouled beyond the cotter pin hole so this should be a mild headache, rather than a shooting migraine.
