They spend all that money on the restoration and then don't use heat embossed vinyl on the door panels and instead use cheap stitching. Come on people..

But Joe, the original heat-embossed vinyl was meant to mimic the more expensive to produce tuck and roll pleat stitching, so maybe they went a level up. (?)

I'm surprised no-one has realized this is HemiViper's car... Here's the link to his post about the finished product:

I have multiple photos ofof 57 Adventurers and every one of them has real stitching on the door panels, not heat embossed.

Don't think there was any heat embossed stitching till later models? Only the emblem is embossed on rear panels and seat, original panels are stitched.

No sure when heat embossing started, but definitely has it on my 60 Saratoga door panels! Even to the point of embossed stitches.

I did the best we could to duplicate the original door trim panels and seats using the NOS materials that were available from SMS, and I am very happy with the results!

The best looking DeSoto ever made in my opinion. What a knockout!

Perfect body style, perfect colors, perfect model. Now, if I could only find my checkbook! Great job!

With you on that Josh. $85K just may be a great price for a car of this caliber. Astounding car in my humble opinion. You better get the kids and Missus to help looking for that checkbook!

Some people will pay more than this for a 57 Chev ???

Steve.

Well I guess I have wipe the egg of my face on the stitching comment. My 59 Chrysler had the heat embossed and I guess I need to spend more time around these beautiful cars. I hope it brings you a great price because it a treasure.
