I purchased this mini-starter for my '57 Dodge but decided to change the transmission so I no longer need it. It is as I received it from the seller, never installed. Here is a link to the item on E-bay:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Early-Dodge-Hemi-Super-Torque-12-Volt-Mini-...

This starter has a 9-tooth one-inch diameter pinion gear and a pinion depth (mounting face to front side of starter ring gear) of 1 1/2".
Please read the description to be sure it will fit your car.

I paid $215 shipped and will sell it for $150 shipped to U.S. only.

I'm confused ...

The eBay seller lists another mini-starter on eBay which fits my '58 318 engine, but it says on the eBay ad that it fits also the 325, 350 and 361 Dodge engines which THIS mini-starter is supposed to be compatible with (along with the '59 Plymouth 318, which cannot be very different from mine) ... But the faceplates are different, and one can see that the depth of engagement is longer on the Plymouth one.

I've asked the eBay seller about some explanation, but he has not answered me back so far.

Can someone give me some input on this ?
Thank you.

It is best to contact IMI directly. They know what each application fits, and doesn't fit. These early mopar starter applications can be confusing.
