Member Posts: 23 | So does anyone know the actual factory correct color of 1957 Carnival Red? I've tried looking it up but I get varying results from a darker even purplish undertone to something closer to toreador red. To me it seems like a slightly deeper version of toreador red. Member Posts: 23 | So it seems i found out something interesting. There's two shades of carnival red one for west coast and the other for elsewhere. https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/dlYAAOxyNo9Sq4Gw/s-l1600.jpg

There are one or two specialty places that claim that they can. Maybe. 1957 Plymouth paint codes (left); 1958 Plymouth Paint Codes (right) Edited by 56D500boy 2019-03-15 3:53 PM

But that means that the original color is found on a piece of metal that can be sacrificed. It's costly though. Rumor says that there's some company in Holland that can mix colors from the old recipes with new components.

I'm trying to find modern codes for 1957 Plymouth Marine Blue Poly, Silver Charcoal Poly, and Satin Gray. The Ditzler codes are DQE-11533-DAL, DQU-31226-DAL, and DQE-31324-DAL respectively. Any assistance you can offer would be appreciated. Edited by 57plymouth 2022-09-10 11:09 AM

Two examples from Los Angeles are my '56 Savoy which was painted Wedgewood Blue, but is much more of a light blue color. Another is my '57 Windsor that was painted Copper Brown, but looks more like Copper Glow. Edited by Powerflite 2022-09-10 2:52 PM
