I am guessing that many/most of the things that you would need in a FSM for your 57 Desoto would be in the 57 or 58 Chrysler FSMs.

I've downloaded, saved and opened them from this website:

Be aware that the Factory Service Manual doesn't include all drawings and lists that are very useful for repairing your car in modern times. Quite often, we are repairing/rebuilding parts that either would have just been replaced back in the day, or rarely required any attention.

Finding a Parts List manual is invaluable, as they show exploded drawings of most parts, and list every nut/bolt/washer/screw that was used to build and attach that particular part. Also, they help you find cross reference for swapping pieces from other models/makes.

Easily Done. Go to the link below and download the 55-58 Parts Catalogue, save it in a directory that you can find and again and Bob's yer uncle (it takes practice to use it but it does have a Ctrl F search function)

Interchange: The 1950-65 Parts Interchange catalogue is there too.

Some example (random) diagrams:

E-bay usually has reprint paper manuals:

If you have a few large swap meets near you I would search out the book dealers.
I've had good luck with the book dealers I've come to know through the years, usually $30-$40 tops for good condition books.
Recently I picked up a 1957 Dodge passenger car service manual,in VG condition, off E-bay for $15.00 and free shipping.

They're not too hard to find but as most things in the car hobby, the more urgent you need it, the harder it will be to find.
