Exner Expert 10K+ Posts: 10357    Location: Lower Mainland BC | . Not to long ago, I found an image of an Auto Show - somewhere, didn't know where. As I poked around, I discovered that the image was from the 1956 Detroit Auto Show. I then started looking for (and still am looking for) a copy of the 1956 Detroit Auto Show program from February 1956. Somewhere in the middle of looking for stuff, I got in touch with the Detroit Public Library to see what they had related to Dodges at the 56 Detroit show. They said that they had a copy of the program and the image that I had found first as well as one more Dodge image. The second Dodge image is only in black and white but it confirms that the white and oriental coral car in the left side of the colour image was a D500 (which kind of makes sense in a way because the D500 was announced at the end of December 1955). I inquired about obtaining digital copies of the photos and anything pertinent I could get from the program (ended up to be 8 pages, including a map of the layout of the building that the Dodges were in so I could figure out the camera angles for the two "Dodge" shots. The answer was: "Thanks for your reply! The second photograph is only in black and white. I ended up paying around $51 to get high(ish) (1 Mb) res photos and a pdf of 8 pages from the program. Many thanks to the folks at the Detroit Public Library (not the first time that I have obtained 56 Dodge info from them (at a small cost)). (I had a quick look just now and came up with some 59 Auto show images but all GM things (Chev, Caddie, etc))  | ||
