Location: The Centennial State | Another famous Arvada resident, Clive Cussler, passed on February 24. I think Cussler spent most of his time in Arizona (or where ever he wished, I suppose), but he has an amazing museum in Arvada, Colorado including several Forward Look stars. https://www.cusslermuseum.com/ I have both of his coffee table books and they are quite good!

Location: North Australia | Thanks for sharing this Mike, I have enjoyed some of Mr Cussler's books, and I did not know he had this collection. I will try to visit that museum one day, looks impressive. I am sad to hear about Mr Cussler. Steve. Edited by 60 Imp 2020-03-04 6:25 AM

Location: The Centennial State | Mr. Cussler seemed to be a pretty down-to-Earth guy! Pretty humble beginnings and a true car nut - a lot like I imagine Jay Leno is. He could afford very broad interests in cars. Among his collection are several outstanding Forward Looks. I wonder what will become of the collection? His heirs may want to liquidate it. Here are a few images from Built to Thrill - More Classic Automobiles from Clive Cussler and Dirk Pitt: (IMG_7539.JPG) (IMG_7540.JPG) (IMG_7541.JPG) (IMG_7542.JPG) (IMG_7543.JPG) (IMG_7544.JPG) (IMG_7545.JPG) (IMG_7546.JPG) (IMG_7547.JPG) Attachments ---------------- IMG_7539.JPG (218KB - 506 downloads) IMG_7540.JPG (228KB - 513 downloads) IMG_7541.JPG (227KB - 507 downloads) IMG_7542.JPG (204KB - 495 downloads) IMG_7543.JPG (210KB - 512 downloads) IMG_7544.JPG (213KB - 508 downloads) IMG_7545.JPG (222KB - 505 downloads) IMG_7546.JPG (208KB - 514 downloads) IMG_7547.JPG (221KB - 510 downloads)

Location: The Centennial State | Howdy, John! Does the museum still hold all of the cars shown in the images? It's been several years since I was there - probably with you, if I remember correctly. We talked to the fella who was in charge of the restoration shop. I don't remember seeing that '58D convertible...

Location: The Centennial State | Hi, Rick - yeah, that's a tough one, especially if Mr. Cussler has more than one child (I think he does). The value of the cars must be extraordinary - he has at least one Duesenberg plus Packards, Auburns, Pierce Arrows, Delahayes - all the classics! From the heir's perspective, probably the only fair way to settle the estate is to liquidate the collection and divide up the money. Whereas Mr. Cussler enjoyed collecting the cars, his estate probably views them as assets.
