57 Custom Royal D500s (i.e. D67-D500) had VINs that started at 37,240, 001 and apparently all were built in Detroit. So this car looks legit (maybe). Would be nice to see the Data Plate and compare it to known 57 Dodge build sheets like this one:

Interesting interior color...given the exterior color combination. The cloth inserts aren't the correct material.

Personally I think that the interior and exterior absolutely DO NOT GO TOGETHER Terrible choice.

The cloth insert material must be fairly close to OE (??)

I once looked at buying this 1957 Imperial in 2008, painted in Shell Pink that had a gold interior seats/door panels, with pink carpets.
Factory original color combination, strange to say the least.
I passed this one up and bought the 60 Saratoga that I still own.

I'd love to see the Data tag on this car or better still a FCA build sheet and IBM card....I have a feeling it's a fake D500...so many things are wrong with it...Also have a feeling this might be a reVINed car...Or this started life as a mid level Royal
Its BDY # should be BDY-2586....I think its going to show BDY-2276 ( Royal)..Coronet will be BDY-2146 or BDY-2246 depending on engine being 2bbl or 4bbl carb'ed

no ones noticed...the roof is missing the Custom Royal stainless trim....not to mention other incorrect stuff..like 58 hood spears...wrong door arm rests...58 hubcaps which are more than likely the fake knock offs..chrome hood and trunk lettering that should be gold anodized...57 Royal emblem on the glove box...truck area painted body color...should be black or grey

Chrysler /Desoto exterior door handles

Detroit built Royal's and Custom Royal's do both start with 372####..California cars are 455####...the interior was redone way too dark in the gold vinyl...it should be a very light gold ( they are to a green shade)...and the cloth inserts are way off from the factory fabric

I have a D500 exactly the same as this car was optioned, it was built in California..I have the FCA Option list and IBM card

John: I don't see any missing roof trim or a door handle issue. What am I missing? I am sure that you are the current 57 D500 expert.

Whoa Whoa Whoa. Is the Custom Royal fender script wrong or ??

It is missing the 1.5in wide stainless roof trim specific to Custom Royals.....the outside door handles are off a Desoto or Chrysler...Dodge should have the smooth finish on the lift part...these handles have the lines/ribs

Geoff...Someone is going to be very disappointed..I'm 90% sure this started life as a Royal...Being a Royal the doors got the correct interior stainless trim

Anyone local to the car to check it out??...Get a photo of the Data tag

I know Mopar Mel built a fake D500 Custom Royal, but his is a Convertible ....unless this is one of his creations as well?

The fender script is wrong in the brochure and brochure picture is missing the roof trim. Here's a Custom Royal with the roof trim. Also has correct upholstery.

Yes...the script on the brochure is a Preproduction car....the brochure car also has the very early production stainless trim joiner pieces on the eyebrows and leading front edge roof trim above the windshield that was deleted later on...later with just a overlapping screw holes....later cars have the potmetal Rifle sights type
My red/white D500 Custom Royal 2dr ht is a very early production car with these features

All 4 cars pictured are D500's , you can just make out the tail end of the Sierra D500 Wagon

imopar380....is this your 57 pictured?...it has a 58 interior mirror installed on the dash ?
