Veteran Posts: 146 Location: California | Recently acquired a 57-58 Plymouth 318 2x4 Dual Quad Setup. This one is correct for 57's and has the correct 26531S and 2632S Carter WCFB carbs. The carbs are currently frozen and I haven't tried to do anything with them as they will obviously need to be taken apart and rebuilt. The setup is really complete with the proper choke and tube, brass carb tags and carburetor linkage still in place and intact. $1500 Thanks for looking! Member Posts: 8 | Hails there, I am interested in this setup. I'm working on an old 50 Suburban and would like to switch it over to something like this. California though, shipping might be pricy, any idea what it weighs? Thanks for sharing the pics, it would be work, but worth it. Cheers! -bishop

Veteran Posts: 145 | Would it be possible to get the bolt center measurement between the second and third bolt holes on the left front side of the manifold? I have a throttle return spring bracket that I'm trying to identify.

Veteran Posts: 145 | Yes, those two holes. I would like to see if the centers are 2-3/16" on them.

Member Posts: 8 | Hails NW Desoto, I looks to be about 1 15/16 from hole center to hole center. -bishop Edited by RustyBishop 2021-02-08 10:24 PM (intake hold spacing.jpg) Attachments ---------------- intake hold spacing.jpg (234KB - 87 downloads)

Veteran Posts: 145 | I appreciate the effort. The bracket I have is probably for a Dodge then, it's smaller than the ones on Chrysler and Desoto.

Member Posts: 8 | Well its been many weeks now without a responce. So I went and got one on my own, a nice dual quad from a 56 303 wide block, fits nicely on the 318 wide but did require a couple of adapter plates for the carbs since in 55 the carb port holes are slightly smaller. Here's the video if you want to see new intake on my youtube channel: https://youtu.be/C2l321vG2E4 thanks!

Nice score. Congrats. In 1956 Mopar was using Carter WCFB carbs which have the small venturis so the small holes and base dimensions make sense. 1735 919 does not show up in the 55-58 Mopar Passenger Car parts catalog but it is Mopar style part number. If it came off a 56 303, then than was most likely in a 56 Fury. It might have been a factory accessory, as shown in the photo below when the manifold was discussed. Here is the best quote in the thread: hoodinki - 2015-02-10 8:46 PM The 1956 Plymouth Fury had three different 2x4 intakes, prototype (aluminum Kiekaefer-designed kludge), NASCAR (aluminum special contracted from Edelbrock), and production (cast iron) Plymouth 1956 (over the counter) 1732479 Cast iron 2x4 Plymouth 1956 1735919 Aluminum 2x4 Plymouth 1956 303 Fury 1733878 Aluminum 2x4 Plymouth 1957 303 Fury 1733878 Aluminum 2x4 Plymouth 1957 318 1822004 Cast iron 2x4 The early 2x4 had tandem WCFB's both with chokes and idle, later used much easier-to-tune progressive WCFBs with one having idle circuits and choke deleted. The earliest 2x4 air cleaner was a special single foam made for Dodge/Plymouth by Purolator, later used separate air cleaners identical to Corvette 2x4 setups..)
