The original owner of this car was only 20 years old when he hotrodded it in 1960 or 59. I heard about a lot of people who were in its teens or early 20s (like Buddy Arrington with a 60 383 Sonoramic) who bought or got these high performance cars. I bet they had a lot of fun!!!

It's a good story about the car but I don't believe it. I owned a 60 Plymouth with the 361 GC and factory 3 speed still on the column. The HD trans. is a Borg Warner T-85 and yes it was the basis for the T-10 4 speed but it definitely did not have the chev bolt pattern. I know because I had it in and out several times putting engine and trans. in my 57 Fury. It had a long input shaft like a typical mopar trans. but I believe the bolt pattern was closer to Ford than Chev. As to switching input shaft with a T-10, not sure. I bet if you look under this car you would find a bell housing adapter and modified drive shaft. I will agree it would be a fun car to drive.

I don't know but the part list looks pretty convincing:

its interesting looking through the parts list for the 4 speed conversion. 6 x flywheel bolts and 6 x nuts, the 383 as with all engines to 1961 are 8 bolt not 6, and of course if they needed nuts this confirms its a long crank, surprising they only used 6 attaching bolts on an 8 bolt and 8 bolt flywheel. ????

Because most of the early Chrysler standard flywheels only used 6 of the 8 holes. Not to cause an argument but I have never seen an early Chev. T-10 with a bolt pattern even close to what Chrysler used. Maybe they redrilled the bellhousing. Not to mention the longer input shaft. I would love to see this conversion.
Just a note of trivia, Chrysler did use the BW T-10 in 63 only but behind its smaller engines before they developed the 833.
In looking at that list again there is no mention of a bell housing so it must use a special aftermarket one not factory Chrysler.

Chrysler offered a T-10 from the factory for six months starting in 1963. It had its own clutch, bell housing, flywheel. and shifter...how do I know? I owned a 63 Sport Fury 383 Golden Commando so equipped.https://www.ebay.com/itm/rare-mopar-borg-warner-T10-transmission-1963-polara-savoy-fury-belvedere-4-speed-/233653190672

That is a very rare trans. If you notice the bolt pattern, it is nothing like a Chevy. As I mentioned earlier, you could not get this trans. behind the max wedge as it wasn't strong enough, not sure why Chrysler decided to use the BW T-85 as it was no stronger IMHO.
