Expert 5K+ Posts: 9904 Location: Lower Mainland BC | . Great Car. 315 2bbl poly, Powerflite. Many many good things. Only one or two very very minor flaws. 77 photos (I saved 70+ of them for future reference). https://www.hemmings.com/classifieds/dealer/dodge/royal-lancer/24602... Expert Posts: 2289 Location: Eastern Iowa | I believe the red rims were as they came from the factory. I seem to recall my '56 was that way before I totally screwed it up like a lot of 18 year olds were doing back then and maybe even my Dad's '55

Expert Posts: 2289 Location: Eastern Iowa | I believe the red rims were as they came from the factory. And at that they were only red on the outer edge. I seem to recall my '56 was that way before I totally screwed it up like a lot of 18 year olds were doing back then and maybe even my Dad's '55 But then, my memory may be screwed up as well. Anyway, I'd be proud to park that Dodge in my garage any day. Edited by finsruskw 2021-02-15 6:03 PM

Member Posts: 18 Location: Golden, CO | Not that it proves anything definitive wrt 56 Dodges, but my 53 ivory-colored one-owner 53 Coronet convertible came with red painted rims, as shown in the factory brochures of the day. Only the rims were painted; the remainder of the wheel's front-side was red overspray atop the gray base coat, giving it a purplish hue. All five wheels had the same pattern, with gray backsides matching the trunk interior color. Red painted wheels were common to a number of manufacturers during the early & mid 50's. Attached is a photo. Body code would be 826, Paint 077 and Trim 539 Similar to another 56 Royal Golden Lancer (built in LA) that we have documented in the 56 Dodge Trim Code Thread:
