That is big money!  I think the buyer's commission is about 15 - 17%, so the hammer must have fallen around $70,500 - $72,000 and that's 2015 money. 

The total cost in 2015 dollars equates to about $95,500 today! 

Barrett-Jackson/Mecum/etc. is a lot like Las Vegas: if you are down in the pit bidding, I think the drinks flow for free.

 

This is a really nice looking car, but for $89K, paint swirls are not acceptable - let alone chips.

usually, people ask for the moon, and who can blame them?  I look through Hemmings print magazine every month and it is always refreshing to see real world ads - though they are few and faw between!

Location: NY & VT		The old Hemmings "phone book" or Hemmings Classic Car? I got the old big brown cover Hemmings for decades but dropped it about 20 yrs ago. I miss the old days when it was just "C' Cars for Sale" and the years were all jumbled up in order of receipt I guess with all C makes, with the odd Crosley etc but about 90% Chrylser as Chevy had it's own section. It was like a treasure hunt, and when it came I'd spend hours on the couch going through it front to back. They took some of the fun away when it became more sequential and organized!
