Lion Petroleum Products was founded in 1921 and had a Lion on it's Gas Globes since the start. They transitioned to that Red/White logo as referenced in the original post in 1959. I can't say if they were inspired by Chrysler or if Chrysler was inspired by them. Great looking piece, and I've been hunting Lion Gas globes and signs for quite awhile now due to the similarities.
