I just picked up this '57 Dodge Royal Lancer, I bought it from an older gentleman who was 87 years old, in Vernon, BC. He had bought it from a guy in Idaho, where it had been restored sometime in the 90's. I drove it home 450 miles after it had sat for 15 years in this guys shop. He had started it every few months and backed it out of the garage, but I didn't realize it hadn't been driven, even into town. So I repacked the front wheel bearings, and off we went. Only issues I had were the original brakes were pretty bad, they gave me just enough to get home. They're basically locked up now, I'm doing a Scarebird front disc conversion with dual master as I plan on actually driving and enjoying the car.
Also, the generator packed it in. Not sure if the regulator failed, or if the bearings hadn't been oiled in a long time, but there was smoke billowing out both ends about 3/4 into the trip. Drove the rest of the way on just the battery.
Otherwise we had a blast! Literally the whole trip I had people waving there arms out the window, thumbs up, people were excited to see it going down the highway. Every time we'd stop to get gas, constant pictures being taken, people wanting to talk.

It's a 325 4 barrel, with original Carter carb, original distributor. I believe it was rebuilt as it's VERY clean, no oil leaks, fresh frost plugs, has very good oil pressure, runs very smooth

Nice score.

BUT you have to post some photos of this gem so we can drool on our computer screens.

Resize to < 250 kB (1024 x 768 works well). NOT .jpegs (from an iPhone, if you can help it).

Otherwise check your Inbox for an email address for me and I will do the work for you and post them to this thread.

Did the car stay in Canada?

I know this can be a PITA but I wish this site would let folks upload photos that are larger than it says I even tried to upload from a phone and had no luck also

Trust me, if you uploaded photos that were bigger than 250 kB you would get massive negative feedback that they are too big for the forum members screens. I don't know what the deal is with Apple product .jpegs but they will not display directly, even if they are downsized to <250 kB before they are uploaded.

One word: Irfanview (freeware that I have been using to resize and improve photos for probably 15 years)
