Elite Veteran Posts: 916 Location: Pau, S-W France | Hello everyone, I haven't been here for a long time, sorry... Yesterday I went to see an Imperial 1963 convertible for sale but also to be completely restored! I'm not interested, I'm not 30 anymore! I need a little help deciphering the data plate. The VIN shows that it is an early 63 (it ends in 102465). THANKS (data_Imp63cv_MdM.jpg) Attachments ---------------- data_Imp63cv_MdM.jpg (153KB - 107 downloads)

Expert Posts: 2009 | . Another interesting fact is: Why did they encode standard equipment? It should go "by default" anyway… I think to avoid confusion on the assembly line. Chrysler (except New Yorker and 300J) had power steering, brakes and automatic transmission in the list of optional equipment, while Imperial had everything as standard. Since 1962, both Chrysler and Imperial have been produced at the same Jefferson plant…
